: "We're uh. Um." She blurted out the first thing that came to mind.

: "We're performers! Travelin' performers!"

I can't believe this is happening. Why are we being friendly with them!?

"Performers? Sneaking through the woods?"

[Sirus]

: "Naw, we ain't sneakin'. We just left Masalla and we're headin' east fer the bigger cities. Figure'd we'd save some time by cuttin' through the woods."

"...Tell me, what kind of tricks your people can do? A song or performance would be appreciated. Especially in such trying times. If you come with us, you could perform for our army and earn quite a lot. Actually, I would like to invite you and your troupe to come with us. With rebel agents coursing this lands, you will be safer with us. If they killed Eul, they would have nothing to harass you merely for being loyal Imperial citizens. Safety in numbers and all that, young lady."

Grifen's mind raced to find some answers.

: "Oh, uh, all sortsa acts! Got a coupla sharpshooters, magic show, a musician, even a dancer! Stuff like that." All at least sort of true. She hoped that some of the rest could come up with ideas.

: "You'd, um, probably have to ask the boss about us goin' with ya. Not my call to make, ya know. He'll be along soon enough."

"And who would that be?"

[Sirus]

: "Oh, he's uh, a preacher. Fancy robes and all. Keeps us in good shape, prays fer a perfect show, stuff like that."

The General narrowed his eyes at Grifen, hearing that apparently a priest was leading this troupe, but said nothing.
