Efa wasn't the teary wreck she'd been earlier, but it was clear that despite an attempt at a calm facade, Efa was at the least veeery much tense and jittery. Looking around with longbow on back, she walked near to Sheila at the fringe of the group.
4, 10

[Blade Master Model 42]

"You can hang back a bit if you want." Sheila said quietly, loosely holding her hatchet in her right hand as she looked at the trees. "You still look a little out of it."

Fezz moved with the others to (3,10), still looking about as excited as he did when they first left the keep.

Efa grimaced.
:"I'll be fine."

"Alright, if you're sure." Best to let that lie- If Efa didn't feel like letting someone in, they weren't getting in. End of story. Sheila glanced past her at Fezz instead. "You look like the cat that caught the mouse, Fezz. I kind of assumed you'd be a bit more nervous."

[Xanmyral]

Fezz looked in the direction of the voice to see Efa, but it was most certainly Sheila's... Oh, the scholar angled himself back a little to see Sheila on the other side.

"Nervous? We're heading to the continent's best kept secret, something archeologists and historians dream of even getting a hint as to its location. I'm positively ecstatic! I'm so excited I'm, er, having trouble walking, actually." It was true, as Fezz moved his pace was so hurried he started to take another step without his first even hitting the ground. Its a good thing he can levitate, otherwise he'd probably be tripping over himself instead of just looking odd as he sort of peddles at the air.

"Yeah, I suppose that's true. I forget sometimes that you're more of a historian than you are a magician. Especially considering how handy you are with magic."

*SLAP* Miguel brought his hand from his neck. A small little insect had managed to find his way up into his armor. Irritating little things.

: "Hmmph. Such dark and dismal woods. Just what made you choose this route Fezz?"

"Ah, yeah, magic was a byproduct of my studies instead of a reason. A good many historical texts on my emphasis were notes written by apprentices to mages in the past, as well as scholars. It wasn't infrequent that the language would slip from ancient text to magical runes and then back again, while being intermingled with treaties on theorem and scrawled notes in the margins." The historian explained.

To Miguel's question, he was a bit more sheepish. "Ah, well, our other choices were walking through Troy or Garaz. I... Figured that with the recent attack, it wouldn't be wise to step on empire soil. Not... That we aren't right now, but this route tends to scare off most so I figured we'd be safer. The forest should cover our approach until we almost reach the mountains."

[Powder Miner]

Efa crossed her arms, a beacon of grumpiness directly between the two cheery speakers.

"And out this way, if we are attacked, it'll be by monsters, instead of people. And I'd kind of like to take a break from killing people again. I like this option, Fezz."

[Furtuka]

"That sounds fair. I've found I work better with lighter weapons anyways."

Julius accepts trade, goes to 5,9

[Xanmyral]

"...Yeah, that's another reason. I'd rather... Er... Kill a monster than a person. Specially after we, uh, found out about Eul."

Miguel considered this.

: "I suppose you both have a point. It would do us good to avoid detection."
: "And as a bonus, any monsters we kill will surely help the local peasants. We'll be like folk heroes, journeying off into the wild brush to conquer evil!"

Miguel chuckled a little, some of his youthful energy returning. But though he could put on a happy face about this, a large part of him wished he was back on Garaz soil. It had been so long since he had last seen his beloved homeland. For that matter, it had been quite some time since he had seen his family. Ever since the incident with Morwen, Miguel had begun to worry about his daughter's safety. Aldonza was just as nationalistic as any other merchant of Garaz, if not more so. Their mutual love of the rolling hills of Garaz and their admiration of the three sons of Garaz was one of the few things they ever bonded on. But would that keep her safe?
