Miguel put on a brave face as he clasped his hands together to keep them in order.

: "No... I'm quite alright. I just need to get some rest."

[Haspen]

"Duke Kretos? His necromantic pursuits are well known. Do you think he made an army of walking corpses? Doesn't that violate the Holy Vows put on the imperial ranks by the Church?"

[Blade Master Model 42]

The girl wasn't buying it. "You can talk to me you know. You looked pretty shaken up when you came out of... It." Sheila put a hand on Miguel's shoulder. "If anyone is gonna understand, it'll be Ciera. She had a very similar experience with that magic last time we fought."

[Furtuka]

"I wouldn't put it past the Imperials to do such a thing. Especially not that man."

Alec shook his head. He knew he would have to explain this.
: "Classy-mask, the rebellion isn't all composed of good, pure people who put everyone's best interests at heart. A good chunk of them just have a huge beef with the empire. While I'm sure this could give us an advantage against more of these things, who's to say those less courteous to the empire's people wouldn't just start zombifying, revenant-ing or whatever to common, innocent people? We have to be very careful with the consequences here."
Alec then turned to Duke Sepin.
: "Yes. The Empire's playing hardball here. Both in this battle and our last they began to utilize Berserk magic against us as well. Their laws don't mean anything to them now."

[Haspen]

The Duke clapped his hands together and had a curious, part-cheerful, part-terrified expression on his face.

"You are aware that most magical research is done with the support and under surveillance of the Church, right? As in, they have access to the most of resources pertaining to arcane and mystical." He rolled his eyes and made an exaggerated sigh.

"One day I will lecture you on the workings of the inner court of the Empire. You're sitting in darkness like every common peasant is. Like most of the Empire. Buuuut, like I said - one day, not two-day! Ha ha." Then he did a twirl and moved away to convene with his amnesiac guard for a moment.

Alec sighed, pulling out his tome and briefly tabbing to the page with his notes on music before muttering to himself.
: "Yes, 'most' research. There's still some people who do these things on their own, legality be damned." He sighed as he turned the page to his recently-completed Enchant song, "Granted, it does put a damper on things."

Miguel gave a shake of head in the negative.

: "I have no wish to speak to her. At least... Not tonight. My thoughts are weighing upon me terribly... And now I cannot seem to still my hands."

[Furtuka]

"Someone who perverts the natural order in such a way has no place in a righteous work such as this. If one of ours did then they ought to be expelled and dealt with. Besides I doubt that Matilda would-"

He was interrupted by Duke Sepin's outburst.

"Now what was that suppose to mean?"

"Maybe if you talked about it you'd feel better? It might help me understand just what went on too."

Alec sighed.
: "To me, I think it was more or less a statement of the obvious. Either we seek out a third party to help us out with determining the makeup of this, or we try to shake the Church down to see if anyone there does. Unfortunately, I don't really have any contacts in the Church..."
: "Also, again, if we leave this to the discretion of Matilda and the rest of the rebellion, we risk having the less scrupulous of the rebellion breaking off from our objective and playing havoc with innocent civilians. The rebellion can't afford any fractures in power with any distractions of those being hunted down or expelled, not at this stage."
: "And, all due respect to her family, Lady Matilda is anything but scrupulous." Alec stuck his tome back into its pack, "All I'm saying is, we can handle this on our own. We don't need to place the additional stress on the rebellion. When we find out enough to determine how to identify these constructs and their weaknesses, or similar, we relay that information to the rest of the rebellion and stop there."

: "Miss Sheila... I would prefer to rest."

[Blade Master Model 42]

"Alright. If that's what you really want." Sheila walked away into the dark of the keep.

[Furtuka]

Julius silently looked at Alec for a while before sighing in resignation.

"...you have a point that we can't avoid distractions.

"So who exactly do you propose we bring this to? None of us are researchers save for Fezz, and this isn't exactly his area of expertise as far as I'm aware..

: "I might have an idea for a contact or two. But it's also entirely possible Duster might know some people too. We'll have to take time to determine that later. In addition there's Duke Sepin's task to contend with, he spoke with Fezz as well before we retired, we'll need to see what that was about too..."
Alec looked around at all the corpses on the battlefield.
: "Speaking of Sepin, was Efa's sister the only one that turned to dust?" Glancing back down to the dust, he crouched and pulled out a sack out of his pack, shuffling a number of items from it directly into his pack. He then scooped as much dust as he could into the sack before closing and tying it shut tightly, "Sorry, Efa. I'm not one-hundred percent sure on Sepin either, so best to keep a hold of all this just in case."
