: "I don't hate you, but refusing to kill is not the same as giving up! I know this well enough!"
: "The enemy's forces here are just about done, we just need some way to subdue her. Talk her out of it or disarm her. Miguel's armor can take the bolts, and if she doesn't go after him, we heal up any other wounds as they happen. She can't last forever."

"I'm... I'm sorry. This just feels like the right thing to do. It's not easy, but..."

Healed by Grifen, Efa groaned, put her hand to her face, and slowly stood up.

: "It is not the right choice at all. Miss Ciera. I know what is like to lose family. Do you?"

"I haven't seen my parents in 10 years. They gave me up to the Duke's army when I was 8, and haven't had any interest in seeing me since. They may not be dead, but so far as they care, I am. I pretend like they gave me up because they thought it was best for me, but I know that's not true. And now I'm facing an enemy. One who has refused to surrender despite being surrounded. One who's made her stance on us quite clear. ONE WHO SHOT HER UNARMED SISTER IN AN ATTEMPT TO KILL HER! So I'm going to defend the only family I have at this point from someone who apparently no longer has any interest in being family with Efa."

: "She is not of her correct mind. Much like you were when you attacked Alec. It doesn't matter how much you care about a person if you're being manipulated by a power you cannot control."

"PROVE THAT! You have no proof that she's not in her right mind. You have no proof she's out of control. You're all just hoping that it's the case. Hoping that this war that we've helped start isn't dividing families. That everything is going to play out nice and neat. Well that's not how it works. That's never how it works."

Looking away and scowling for a brief moment on hearing Ciera's words, Alec glanced back to his book and crouched. He laid the tome onto the ground, pages open to a different set of musical notes amidst a huge series of drawings and research. Pulling his flute at the ready, he glanced quickly between Ciera and Morwen, apparently waiting for one of them to make a move.
: _{"Don't make me do this, Fly Girl... If there are any gods in the sky watching, don't make me have to..."} He muttered under his breath.

Efa had basically dissolved into tears at this point, though a furious attempt at wiping her eyes was made to hide this.
:"F-fuh for fuck's sake, I, I-I don't want you to, to kill her!"

Grifen just stared wide-eyed at the confrontation, her crossbow pointed into the space between Ciera and Morwen. It kept twitching lightly from one side to the other, as though not even Grifen's subconscious mind could decide who to fire at.
