After a pause, Alec just looked down at his knee. Then around the rest of the shop, wondering if there was a bowman somewhere.
: "...Huh?"

"It's okay. We'll figure something out. I will do everything I can to get you your happy ending, okay?" Sheila patted Grifen's back as she held the smaller girl.

Miguel slowly brought his hand up to his face. Weren't musicians and poets supposed to be good at this kind of stuff!? He tried again. Certainly he would understand this one.

: "Allow me to say it in a different way. He's gone fish-eyed on account of a pretty face!"

Alec scratched his chin, and after a moment pulled out his leather book and started tabbing.
: "Hmm, you're quoting something. Unfortunately I'm not one to remember these tales word-for-word."

: "Oh for heavens sake lad! Am I going to have to spell this out?"

Miguel pointed to Fezz with his mighty finger, a grin spreading across his face.

: "He's in love with a girl!"

Startled a little by Miguel's sudden outburst, Alec clapped his book shut.
: "Oh, is that all? Next time don't shroud it in flower-talk. There's hundreds of stories that make the same speeches." Alec chuckled to himself before muttering.
: _{"Hah, first Mop-top, now his brother."}

Miguel smiled and crossed his arms against his chest.

: "Ah my dear boy! There is no better subject to adorn with flowers than the art of heaven itself! For if you do not adorn love with nature's bounty, what should it be adorned with it?"

Having wandered away from the other girls, Efa ended up seeking out Candy. In fact, she walked behind him and grabbed his fairy wings.
:"I've been meaning to ask, are these real?"

Grifen held Sheila in a tight hug, sniffling a little but for the first time feeling a stirring of hope. After all, if the pirate could end up together with a priest then who knew what else was possible?

: "Thanks, Sheila," the nomad whispered. "I feel so lucky to have met ya."
She gave one last squeeze, then pulled away so she could pull out a handkerchief to wipe her tears away. She had to be strong, like her friend.

"You know what we need? A distraction! We're just gonna hurt our heads trying to work something out this second- We've gotta let the answer come to us naturally! So let's do something to take our minds off of it. What should we do next?"

Grifen pondered the question as she finished getting her head back together.

: "Well, Uncle Rufus said that the only things to do in Moss were trading and drinkin', and we already did all our shoppin'...so unless there's some sorta festival goin' on that's all I can think of. Guessin' we could ask around, see if anything's happening."

"So... drinking then? I've never gotten drunk... What's it like?"

Fezz's face gradually moved from surprise to confusion and clear to the far side of embarrassment during Miguel's conversation with Alec.

"I--Uhm--Er--What? Exc--Excuse me? In, uh..."

"Well, it's a sort of warm feeling that starts in your chest and spreads out from there, and it makes everything feel wonderful. If you have too much, it can make you dizzy and sick though, so the best way to do it is to get to your highest point you can get before you get sick, and stay there by drinking slowly."

[Sirus]

: "Last time I drank, it was this real nasty grog stuff that just about made me sick after a few sips. I'm thinkin' maybe this time we try to find somethin' a bit nicer?"
