: "Actually, it's probably best I don't ask. I don't know what it is, but when it comes to him I have an odd feeling that the less I know, the better."

"He's not all that bad, just a bit eccentric. One meets a lot of strange people when they travel." The scholar defended the pink haired dancer, albeit with amusement.

"Although the recent change is a bit... Strange, I will admit. He told me about what he was seeking though, back to the history, but I'll respect your wishes." Fezz gave a quiet chuckle. "But I'm curious, what got you into that time period? The vast changes it caused, societal influences, something else maybe?"

[CrimsonEon]

: "Believe me, I've had my fair share of eccentricies. It's just... That guy trumps them all." Alec shakes his head to stop himself, "Oh, nevermind."
: "And I'd say it's more a personal reason that got me looking at it. There's a lot of unanswered questions from those times. Without going into detail, the idea was that if I could get some answers and knowledge, they can be used to help today's problems. Well, if that makes sense. I certainly thought so when I was younger."

"Oh come off it, I've seen you makin' eyes at him. Heck, you looked pretty taken with him the first day we met." Sheila decided not to address Grifen's obliviousness. She could come to that later, after the drink started to flow.

"I... I... I mean... _He'scuteok. But he's busy with doing his job for his bosses and keeping track of all of us and... I'm, well, me."

"...The hell does that mean? You're cute and stuff. You should talk to him, invite him back to your room to talk. And whatever else happens." At this point the girls had reached the pawn shop, but Sheila didn't enter straight away. "He doesn't seem to be seeing anyone. Take a shot, I bet it'd go well!"

[Sirus]

: "Aw, don't be shy. Alec's nice! I bet he likes ya too."

[Swordstar]

Ciera shook her head, blushing even more.

"I... I'm just the ditz who got sent along with you guys because I needed to learn more. I'm just someone else he needs to worry about keeping out of trouble."

"You're too modest! You hold your own pretty good on the battlefield too. Quit makin' excuses and go for it! What's the worst that could happen?" Sheila entered the pawn shop, grabbing the items the group had agreed on and paying the shopkeep his fees.

The party purchases a Guiding Ring (to Fezz), Taksh (to Grifen), Shine (Fezz again), Combat Ring (Ciera), Lockpicks (Julius), Killer Rapier (Miguel), Secret Book (Ciera) and Blood Charm (Sheila) throughout their day in the market!

[Sirus]

: "Just think about it, okay? Never know unless ya give it a shot."

Once all the shopping was concluded, the nomad toyed with her new crossbow, adjusting the sights and making sure the tension on the arms was correct.

[Swordstar]

Ciera shook her head.

"No... He was told to look after me. I don't... He probably just views me as another annoyance he needs to take care of. 'Sides, like I said, he's probably busy with all his work. It's fine. Just a crush anyways."

She flipped through the book they'd got, trying to seem like she was paying more attention to it than she actually was. In her mind she was replaying the scene where Matilda had told Alec she was joining them. He had seemed annoyed. And then surprised when she'd implied that Ciera liked him. But... She couldn't tell if it was a good surprised or a bad surprised.

"Well, at least promise you won't rule it out. You might feel different about it later." Especially if we get some liquid courage into ya.

[Sirus]

: "He probably just hasn't gotten used to ya yet. Once he knows ya can handle yerself he might start thinkin' of ya differently."

[Swordstar]

Ciera gave a half shrug, staring down at the book in her hands.

"It's not a big deal. Not worth thinking about probably. Besides. There's more fun things to talk about. Like you and Leo, right?"

"Ehehehe. I am surpringly lucky. I can't believe we've been... You know, like this, for a whole month now. It's amazing. I mean, I haven't gotten to do anything but kiss him, but I'm hoping he's thinking past that by now, y'know?"
