: "Nevermind that!" Alec hastily waved off Fezz's confusion before pulling out a letter from his pack.
: "Just as a curiosity, do you remember what that merchant you lost your tomes to looked like? Old? Little bit portly?"

Ciera grinned as Leo put his arm around Sheila.

"Soooo, Leo. What do you think of Sheila's new outfit?"

Miguel perched behind Leo. Bold move young cassanova.

: "Ho ho ho."

Leo had been quite blatantly keeping his eyes either on the paper or Sheila's face.

"Err... very, nice. Not sure if it's... protective, er, in certain areas..."

The strain of not looking was probably audible.

"Right, right, and I think Julius' lockpicks gave up the ghost. Plus Ciera was eying this one rapier..."

"And you guys shut up, you're gonna make him stop."

Ciera giggled at Leo's reaction.

"He liiiiiiikes it. As for the rapier... it's probably better off going to someone like our knight here. I could probably use something a little lighter and easier to control."

[Xanmyral]

"Yeah, I do. He took my trunk and all my notes, tomes, and research." The historian ran a hand through his hair as he sighed, fully remembering the impact of that loss. "Can't do anything really without it, not without starting from scratch again. Which would take years."

There was a slight pause though as the man looked at Alec a bit closer and noticing his smile. "Why? Was there news?" He sounded cautiously hopeful.

[SeriousConcentrate]

"Right, yes. Miguel, do you think you could use a rapier?"

Different topics were good.

: "Oh yes. I am certain I could use a thrusting weapon."

Leo was not sure if that was innuendo or not anymore. So he chose to believe it wasn't.

"All right, let's mark that down then. And lockpicks for Julius, of course. Hmm. Let's see. What about this book?"

[Blade Master Model 42]

"Apparently it's filled with secrets. Fightin' secrets."

[Furtuka]

"I haven't really put aside time to check the shops yet. Though you're right that I need lockpicks."

"!"

"Fighting secrets?!"

: "Hmm, 'news' might be doing it a little to much. I'd call it a lead. Masalla's a great place to tap into the goings-on of the mercantile business. Not to mention, this duchy was where I grew up anyway." Alec flipped open the letter and glazed his eyes over it.
: "I've got three or four candidates so far that could potentially have their mitts on your research. From what I heard, the guy just had a wagon to his name and operated in Riemond around the time you lost it. It'll take some more asking around to get a final answer and get it back, but it's something."

[SeriousConcentrate]

"I'm sure someone could use it, then. Maybe Julius, since you sound interested?"

He moved closer to Sheila, supposedly to get a better look at the list she was holding as he made notes on it.

"So, crossbow, rapier, ring, book, lockpicks... Hmm... We could still afford more things. Any other suggestions, anyone?"

"Well... The book's supposed to make you more accurate. Was kinda hoping I could get it actually... Oh, and there was this other ring. I think it's supposed to boost your fighting strength or something. Maybe your accuracy too."
