Leo glanced at Julius and nodded back, then looked down and closed his eyes, arms crossed.

Grifen jumped when Efa spoke up.

: "OH! Uh, heya Efa. Bosslady wants us all to meet in the "audience chamber" fer some meeting. And...I ain't sure what ya mean by "use it". I mean, normal bolts get shot out of a crossbow like mine, but that one's all decorative and stuff."

: "I figgered that, if it weren't supposed to be shot, it must be a good luck charm! And since yer luck ain't always the best, I thought ya might like it. Didja try wearing it around yer neck or something?"

:"Good luck charm bolt, good luck charm bolt, good luck charm bolt... huh, kinda rings a bell... OH! I think my brother mentioned having something like this before!"

: "That's perfect! Pretty sure my Pa had one of these as well, but he never told me what it was for. Go on, try it on!"

Julius looked at the floor for a while before turning his head back to Leo

Leo noted this and looked up, raising an eyebrow.

Julius averted his eyes to the side for a moment before looking back again.

Leo frowned slightly, an eyebrow still raised.

"..."

Julius shook his head and began tapping his foot against the floor

:"Riight, I think he actually described it as having broken it in half..."
Experimentally, Efa snapped the bolt in half. Immediately, her hands steadied, and her visible eye widened.

Long finished tending to his horse, Miguel was gearing back up and heading back into the castle proper through the servant corridors. By chance, his path crossed that of Sheila's as he was nearing his chambers. He hailed her down with a welcoming smile.

: "Greetings and salutations my young friend. What brings you down this way?"

Sheila hurriedly wiped her eyes before Miguel had a chance to see. Or at least she hoped she had. "Oh, Matilda wanted to talk to everyone in the audience chamber. Just finishing rounding people up. I'll see you there." Sheila then went to move past Miguel. Of course, he could follow her.

Leo sighed and shifted his weight from left foot to right, grinding his teeth and wondering when Matilda was going to get there.

[Sirus]

Grifen's face drooped as Efa snapped her gift in twain.

: "Awwwww..." But she perked up again at the blonde woman's reaction.

: "Whoa, what happened? Ya seem a bit different than just a few seconds ago."

Julius turned his head to the front of the audience chamber and then back at the door.

Alec retrieved an Inkwell off the nearby desk and, after making sure it was properly sealed, tucked it away and rushed out to the audience chamber.

On his way in though, he clearly saw Leo and Julius idly staring around. He gave each only a brief glance.

He didn't bother sticking around, and made his way to the opposite end of the room.
