: "But don't worry, I'll get yer feet working properly. I don't care how many mashed toes I get, just so long as ya don't step on my arm. Deal?" She held out a hand to shake.

Leo nodded and took her hand.

"Then it's a deal. Though to be frank I have greater faith in your ability to learn than mine!"

"...Hopefully I won't step on your arm. That's actually a possibility with me."

At the sight of Leo taking Grifen's hand, Candy couldn't help but sing a little. He had a deep, smooth, singing voice, completely different from his normal voice.

: "...LOOOVE is IN THE AAA'IIIIIR~ you can FEEEEL iit EEEV'RYYY'WHEEEEERE~"

[Sirus]

Grifen winced at the sound of Candy's singing but remained otherwise focused.

: "We'll just hope for the best on that front, right?" she asked, shaking Leo's hand with one hand and clapping him on the shoulder with the other in the traditional way of concluding business.

: "Well its been nice chattin' with y'all, but I wanna try to get a little shopping done before bosslady calls us all back. Later!"

Grifen goes to the crossbow store, sells the Slim Bow, and buys an Iron Crossbow.

"Until later, Grifen."

Leo waved as she left, then turned to Candy.

"I assure you, my interest in Grifen is platonic..."

"All the same I would have figured you for a tenor. Tell me, have you ever sang in a choir?"

Candy shook his head.

: "Well, a choir would have required more people, and more people would have required I tell anyone I'm not fit to be a deadly knight..."

"Ah, I see. That's too bad. We could have used someone who could actually sing in Ironmill."

He laughed.

"Well, I suppose we weren't that bad. You're still better, though."

The poor heroic thiefdude didn't find any place that would sell knives except the adventurer's shop, and even there it was a single set of knives.

@Grifen:

"I can give ya onehundred and fifty for that bow."

Sheila dropped the coin again and sighed in defeat, putting it away for now. She then looked around, a frown on her face. "Hey, where'd Grifen get to?"

Exact same amount I wanted to borrow from Eleanor...oops. Well, I'm sure someone else could use extra gold.

: "You got a deal!" She handed over her old Slim Bow and the amount of gold needed to make up the rest of the cost. Once the Iron Crossbow was in her possession, she returned to Leo, Sheila, and Candy.

"She went in that shop over there to buy a crossbow... oh, wait, she's coming back."

Leo pointed out the returning Grifen to Sheila.

Efa had finished taking a (long) while to rest, in her room. She usually did need some time to recover from her own bullshit after a mission. Recently, however she'd needed an extra long time to deal with it, considering how long of a slog this last mission had been, with no time to rest alone. So, she suspected, she had taken a terrifyingly long time to recuperate. She'd slept a lot. Now, she was nonetheless ready to head out of town and reassume the mask (unlike Elenore's, a figurative one).

Dressing to head out, something caught her eye. The book, the one about building confidence, she hadn't ever learned why Maible had chose it for her. Well, she concluded, now would be probably the perfect time to find out.

So she set off into town, looking for Maible.

Fezz makes his way to the adventurer shop to see what it has.

: "Hey y'all, look what I found!" She held out her shiny new possession for all to see. "This here's my first real crossbow. I'm so excited to show off what Bree and I can do with this!"
