Leo leaned on his healing staff.

"I have three questions, your grace. Can you tell me more about this merging of the duchies? Secondly, do you need any help in the infirmaries? I would be happy to lend my assistance to your people. Third, do you have a chapel or a shrine to the Dragon? I haven't been to one in some time and I would like to do so."

@Grifen:

"I can take you there." The Imperial officer approached Grifen. "I was brought here on a wyvern and the wyvern nest is located alongside the stables. Your grace, I will take the copy of the document to our mighty Emperor." Captain Eul bowed to Duke Mireos and then moved toward the exit from the office.

@Leo:

"We have enough healers at the moment. As for the merging of the duchies, Lord Neuthart here long ago vowed to unite the Duchy into one again as we both agreed that his father made a mistake and my father handled it even worse. As for the chapel of the Dragon, there is one in the city, where was it again..."

"It's in front of the market." One of the guards replied.

"Ah right, that's where you can find it."

"Thank you very much, your grace."

Leo bowed, before turning to Sheila.

"I trust you to hold onto the pay. If you - or anyone else needs me - I'll be at the chapel for the next hour or so."

He bowed to the duke again and took his leave, heading for the chapel.

Grifen followed the captain, marvelling at (from her perspective) the incredible wealth on display at the castle. She couldn't help but feel like some sort of barbarian in comparison.

"I wouldn't mind seein' to my horse as well, ifn' yeh don't mind, before I get paid."

Tacey followed the two, noticing Grifen's unabashed awe at the surroundings.  For her own part, she couldn't help but shrug.  Compared to the capital, it was rather base, but then again, after years there, her own opinion of the capital had shifted from a similar awe to just a feeling of garish ostentation.  Even this much wealth on display made her feel somewhat uncomfortable.

@Grifen:

"So." Captain Eul spoke to Grifen after their got downstairs.

"Are you from the continent? I couldn't help but notice that your accent is similar to that of the mountainfolk near Eren or rural Masalla."

@Sara:

"A wyvern? Hmm, that's rather expensive request, but I will keep my word. One of the guards will take you to the stables. I believe lately we began to train and tame few wyvern younglings. You will be allowed to take one." The Duke nodded at one of the guards, who moved closer to Sara.

"This way please." The Duke then turned to the rest of mercenaries.

"I'm sorry but I don't have time to hear all your requests now. We will talk later today. The guards will take you to the guests' quarters." With that, the Duke moved toward the desk and Matilda followed right after him.

Sara nodded, then followed the guard to the wyvern nest.

Sheila followed the guards to the quarters. She would've liked a chance to ask how substantial the raise she'd been promised would be... But that could wait, for a little while at least. Once the group arrived, Sheila turned to those who were still present.

"Anyone need anything? The Duke said we could ask for food if we wanted."

@Grifen:

"My family comes from that region, if we are to believe folk tales and heroic legends. Apparently Eul family was famous there even before the Empire. As a dabbling historian, I've been in Mesalla quite a few times, on an assignment or during my free time, so I guess I can recognize people from there. I was merely curious. There we go." He finished just as they got to the stables. Tens of horses were living there, and further away, there was a tall building, from which shrieks and growls came.

@Sara:

The guard took Sara through different corridor but nonetheless, she got to the gates of the nest. The gates were open, and caretakers were coming and going as few armored guards kept watch over the building.

Sara thanked the guard, before heading through the gates into the nest itself proper.

: "Thanks sir!" Grifen walked over to the stall with Bree to make sure she had plenty of feed and water. The poor girl had been through a lot lately but looked happy to be indoors and healthy.

Tacey nodded politely to Captain Eul as she passed him, heading to Creidhne's stall further in.  The ride from the border had been easy for both her and Creidhne, and the stablehands seemed competent enough, but she could see where his hooves could still do with further cleaning, and so got to work.
