Have been meaning to have a go at learning how to draw and stuff, figure it's about time I actually try. I tend to hold myself to a high standard in things I do, and usually I just give up first few seconds when I see how horrible a drawing I am making.

Here's me sketching my desk in photoshop. I'm just using a mouse, no fancy tablet or anything. First drawing I've seen through, among the few I've ever attempted.

So... I think this is a fitting place to ask. I'm studying tonal drawing and I'd like some stock photos or images of simple-yet-interesting shapes (rounded-edge cubes, for example) without a mushroom-stamped watermark or needing an account or having to pay for "free" stock photos.

Is there a place where I can just open decent-sized images of simple stuff in a browser without all the other hassle?

But yeah, I find that its the anatomy [in relation to perspective] I always mess up-The perspective and facing of creatures as well as how they'd be structured takes quite some measuring to ensure it looks..reasonable.

And I'm in premed >_<

Anyone have tips on perspective in that context?

The advice I always see w/regards to foreshortening and perspective is, draw the figure and pose you want from the side, then use a ruler or light horizontal lines to line up the foreshortened area on the normal perspective pose you're working on.

I think I failed to clarify..or add it in, but what if the subject you're working on is based fully in the imagination? That's where most of my art comes from-the lack of subject, but the concept of the subject being based on what is tangible.

As in, what are the general rules of perspective?
