Perhaps we can have smaller implants for Cogification than with the others we've cogified so far. Little things, like improved joints, better muscle and improved memory. We don't want her to be cog-cog computing or anything. For the armour suit, perhaps there could be a few little ports for it, so she can control it directly.

EDIT: My points are still for Cog-Armour only, but if we DO monsterificate her, then I vote we use Cogification with anaesthetics. And if we HAVE to mutate her, perhaps we could implant a chip that can act as a non-chemical anaesthetic (I presume that the chemical aspect is the one that changes the mutation).

Nope.

Really, the entire reason we mutated all the children, knowing that it was a dangerous and painful procedure, is because we adhered to our strict monster only policy. Letting the kid get away with a nice suit of armor for trying to get away will show that all the mutation was nothing more than a random act of cruelty.

Mutation it is. If we do it with a simple mutagen, there's barely any risk involved.
Maybe we should ask Chemista if Cogification can be done with anaesthetics. I see no reason why it can't.
Cogification has a significantly higher mortality rate, as we haven't done it that much (IIRC, only on Coghuaha and Gamington ).

On a side note, the fact is that we're making massive changes to a beings body, and having them be under any kind of sedation during the procedure (both with cogification and mutation) might result in the brain getting a fatal identity crisis when it wakes up. At least during a normal mutation procedure, it has a few hours of intense pain during which it can adapt to the changes. Just speculation though.

Another reason for the suit instead of cogification/mutation. If everyone else insists on additions, though, we could probably use some definitely-non-lethal changes with custom parts.

Maybe we can tell the kid all about mutagens, and then show some of the other children and let her pick.

No, that could have negative results. If we're doing anything, use cogification.

The entire point of all the mutations is that we were adhering to our monsters only rule. If we make one exception, and that as a reward for betraying us, we make it pretty clear that the mutations, and death were clearly not nessecairy, and merely an act of cruelty. Basically, it amounts to throwing away what little principles remain. (Not that we that many left, but monsters only is one of the few things we adhered too consistenly).

Maybe we can tell the kid all about mutagens, and then show some of the other children and let her pick.
I'm pretty sure she heard the screams. Truly, steampunk bases have a tendency to do that. Way too much pipes and such. Also, why reward the traitor.

Well, I guess that some sort of punishment. An equally painfull, but more dangerous procedure.

Maybe Psysquid could teach Ragnarock (and the Yellow King Spawn, but that seems to be expecting too much of him), the two of them together could probably do a better job once Rag knows what he is doing.

I veto cogification. If she dies, we lose all our respect. Let's go with the fool-proof alternative of mutation (with ONLY 1 mutagen)

I trust Psysquid, plus this way if they had done nothing she would have been mutated with the rest, if she dies its their fault as well.
Edit:So what mutation do you want anyway?

If she dies it's both their and our fault. But it will prove them right. We can't allow that.

For the mutation, I want...

A praying mantis!

(Other ideas include a pufferfish, a hedgehog, a sea urchin, a jellyfish and anything else you can think of)

Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh...........

You know, the bad part about emotional drama is that people start to expect it after a while.

Talk to Cerulean and Gamington. Mention that you are not happy with them disobeying orders, for which they will be (lightly) punished. Then say that you are also proud that they were brave and moral enough to go and save this girl in the face of overwhelming odds and also very, very sad that they had to save her from us. Ask for their motivation. Mention to Cerulean that she is almost ready to become a Dark Advisor.

Then do the motivating thing and let them decide what to do with the girl. She cannot stay in our base if she is a human is the only rule.

The very best way to do a right thing is to put it onto the shoulders of the people who would be judging you, see.

Personally want to try snake, Normal Psysquid (before the world crap happened), Dark knight, or cat.

At least be ashamed about their disobedience and that they didn't even think to ask, we gave these kids a choice remember? Most of them went for it, didn't force this on them.

Again, there is something more important at play right now. Our respect as a leader. If we allow this, then we get in the road to insubordination. The girl won't die if we mutate her with only one thing.

No congratulations of any kind. If they have a problem with our ethics, just tell us about that. Plotting won't be rewarded, never.

Have any kind of talk you want, but I INSIST on letting them do what they want with the girl. Or at least not mutating her.

What we have now is basically a choice between being "feared" and "loved". Gamington and Cerulean are not the kind of people who obey us because of the chain of command. They are fiercely loyal to us out of a sense of personal affection. Reducing all their efforts to naught and rubbing it in their face is a much more surefire way of getting them to rebel than letting them get away with insubordination.

We are talking about our daughter and the most noble and badass guy in our lair here, gentlemen. If they will have an axe to grind with us, no amount of fear will stop them.
