Or maybe go back to base, acquire mutagen, then go back to volcano and pull the lever push the button.
If we must then I change my vote to going back, will give us more time to swap and share stories and info the other us doesn't have yet.

Hmm. Actually, maybe these "abilities" aren't worth it. Maybe it's a see invisible type thing, maybe it's just madness kicking in.

Let Psysquid push all the buttons... but keep in the sub.

Then send 4 cogs to push all the buttons at the same time, for extra !!SCIENCE!!

Well how about we see how badly these visions of things that aren't there affect us.
+1 to cog science, may try just one cog first and see if we get another worlds equivalent?

Well yes, i mean experimenting IS good, but... Shadenight clearly said it was a BAD idea to look at a demonic gate opening.

Oh, why did we have to mess with things we can't understand? Damn, I wanted to go back to usual stuff, but the general concensus says no, so I will just state what I don't want us to do when we do this:

1) Don't take any Psysquid with us other than the original one.
2) Don't get more insane. If something is labeled as "ability", it doesn't mean that it is good, beneficial or even not bad.

Only Psysquid sees the buttons.
Only he can push the buttons.
Only he can change the reality.
He has no mask.
He has no face.
He has no mask.
Indeed. Indeed.
Indeed.
There are tentacles. There are tentacles.
It hurts. It hurts.
Indeed.
Indeed.
No mask.
No face.
Worthless.

The goldfish swimming around your head seems to be broken. It keeps on repeating the same things time and time again.

You return to base, where Chemista is standing in wait with her arms crossed and a 'granny porn' magazine in her right hand.
Psysquid doesn't even gaze at that.
"Where is my love?" he asks softly, "Where is my Squidconda-chan?"
You...really don't want to expand on those images.
Or the -chan.
Nobody should expand on the -chan, as the pretty goldfish around your head says.
It's bad to expand on the Chan.
"Does this one think at least?" Chemista asks offhandedly, her voice somewhat stern and anything but amused.
"You're sad you couldn't make him see reason," Psysquid snaps at her. "You're awfully afraid he will never understand your reasons. You fear he will eventually lose everything he holds dear because he doesn't try hard enough," slowly, he carefully inches towards Chemista. "You toss and turn at night remembering all those you killed and backstabbed, hearing their screams," hey, is someone screaming around here, "and yelling curses against you. You remember the tests and the exams on your flesh, like cattle to the butcher, you remember and you recall and you know you did the same because of petty revenge. How many did you kill before your heart gave way? How many evils did you commit before you forgot what it meant to be the experiment, and not the experimenter? Where is your life now, Chemista? You no longer even remember what your name was, do you? All that you sacrificed to become a scientist, your childhood dream even among the poor little suburbs you lived in with an uncaring father and a drunk mother... Pathetic...sniveling...poor...little...J-"
You can hardly blame Chemista for roaring and slamming a Goo-Shoulder of acid against this Psysquid, "WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU KNOW ABOUT ME YOU DAMN BASTARD!?"
Her entire being bubbles as the Ph in her skin changes to acid-like, leaving behind quite the deep trail on the lair's floor as she uses inhuman strength to pounce and slam the squid across the room, breaking through the kitchen and destroying the fridge -and Gamington's DANCE DANCE Console- in the wake.
It's actually lucky that she does so, because the moment Gamington's console breaks, the Dark Advisor dances the damage away to save Psysquid from being devoured alive by a bubbling pool of acid.
"CALM DOWN!" Gamington exclaims, "DANCE FOR PEACE! PEACEFUL DANCING! NO HATING! DANCE THE HATE AWAY!"
Turning and spinning Psysquid like a ballering, he pushes the Psysquid towards you.
"You can read minds?" you ask offhandedly to the squid as Chemista takes deep breaths to calm down.
"No," he replies with ease, as if being burned -oh, apparently he's already healing- didn't matter. "I can theorize and analyze her past to be similar to that of Chemista of my dimension. However, in my dimension she is an oversized brain in a jar...not a mass of gelatinous goo and emotions."

Dark Advisor Event!

"I want him dead or gone," Chemista says with no half-terms. "It's either Him or Me!" she adds hotly.

Fine, distance it is, could have been fun to be insane.
Tell her he is gone once we have our answers and his mutagene, if she kills him she can expect to suffer for leaving our Psysquid trapped in a horrible world. Also where would she go even if she wanted to leave us? And what makes her think we can let her leave since she knows the location of our base?

Obvious no

Ok, this is enough. We have done too much damage by playing with the fabric of the universe.

So do this:
Send Nihilist Psysquid back to nihilist dimension. Yellow King shoud come then.
Send Yellow King to Yellow King dimension. Normal Psysquid should be the one to enter.

Then close the damned temple.

Damn, the craziness is pretty advanced, judging by that goldfish.

And we don't ned his mutagen, I think. He has been mutated only with a squid.

He is here already, just do it anyway. Also there is two more, might as well get them all, nothing will happen if we just stay in the sub, collect him, get his info, collect the mutagens then return them to their respective worlds.
Could even collect Yellow King, then Psysquid then go for the others safe in the knowledge our guy is just one swap away.

I like him!
We never had such a deep analysis of Chemista's thoughts and actions. I've been trying to put my finger on her for quite a while, since she's such a poker player when it comes to her view of situations and what she thinks of our actions. She may be the least "advisor" of our Dark Advisors, since she basically never feedbacks us her views or opinions.
I'm not afraid of insanity (blame my Lovecraftian ignorance, i don't know what happens with Lovecraft's madmen) and I would very well vote to find a way to keep this one WHILE getting our Psysquid back.

Edit: We've got a Possible Upgrade Acquirable. Must be something we can get from this choice Chemista gave us. Ideas?

OK, that's official... Try all the other Psysquids without seeing it, without giving Chemista any other possible reason to go berserk, and then come back with our original Psysquid.

Also, whoa boy angry Chemista seems just as deadly as Gamington. Maybe we should use her anger as a Destruction-mode for her ?

Also, give her a bear pelt and an pair of battleaxes for that berserker look.

Also, we're not keeping this one. Even if he does look like he's useful. If we do Chemista will kill him anyways and suffer a large loyalty penalty.

Give our excuses to Chemista as well. It's not our direct fault but she didn't deserve that. (Well, not from our standpoint anyway)

The conflagration Psysquid is definitely not going to do anything good to us.

Let's stick to "don't try to use what you can't control", please

To answer your "lets get all Psysquids" thing.
Only Psysquid sees the buttons.
Only he can push the buttons.
Only he can change the reality.

Also, the possible upgrade is likely going to be Chemista angry mode, like Cerulean.

And I may not know much about Lovecraft, but dealing with beings beyond your comprehension is never good. Most people who have discovered these things and managed to not succumb to the cult of the forgoten ones ended up dead.

-snip-

=( okay...

He got stopped mid-sentence by a rampaging Chemista. His last word was "J...". It's a capital J, so must be a name. Perhaps the name of the one Chemista's so worried about "not trying too hard" and "not understanding reason"? Who would that be? We didn't understand her reasons on hating humanity and we don't try very hard to mutate everyone (look at the still-human kids), but our name does not starts with a J, so it must be someone else... I feel this may be important. Do we know someone related to Chemista who's name starts with a J?

This particular Psysquid winces a bit as he simply drops one of his tentacles before leaving with you -the mutagen can always be extracted from it after all.
Nihilism-Psysquid Mutagen Acquired
Chemista huffs, actually happy the 'bastard' is leaving.
Chemista Ability Unlocked: Boiling Ph. +4 Des for two turns. Activates on Second Turn.

You're back in the submarine, away from prying ears and back in the 'depths'. You can once more ask him questions.
"The name I was about to say?" he remarks, "I have no intention of saying it," he adds. "It is not my story to tell, and unfortunately you do not have the necessary mental prowess to even demand respect from your subordinates. I find your 'Overlordness' to be lacking, to say the least."
He seems somewhat smug. "I figure you need me alive to bring back the other one, and I think you will not risk killing me to achieve such a result...and I'm pretty sure my mental prowess is stronger than yours," he gestures at his head. "So, really...what can you offer me to make me talk about what my world is like?"
