As you mull over what to do with 'Cheerful Cheerie', you head over to bed.
It's going to be a long day tomorrow, after all -you just know it.
Before going however, you head over to where Knighthowl is...to ask about something that is plaguing your mind recently.
"So...you heard a voice yell 'Die' repeatedly?" Knighthowl states.
"No, it was more of a 'DIE' thing."
"Interesting...well, I admit, nobody has ever recovered from Mindium-brainwipes but maybe, just maybe, you might be the first. I'll just keep waiting for that moment with bated breath, Silver."
"I'm Incognito," you reply. "I'll always be Incognito."
"I'm a monstrous werewolf," Knighthowl retorts. "I did not let that make me a monster. You don't have a blood of Overlord Evil in your veins, Incognito. You might call you that, but you..."
"I AM INCOGNITO!" you snarl back, "My mind is filled with things Incognito does and knows! I am not Silver, I am not THE Hero!"
Then, meekly, you whisper.
"I am not a monster like you heroes, who torture people for fun," you flex your fingers. "I am not."
"Then," Knighthowl says without losing his composure, "Why are you having doubts?"
"I am not having doubts!" you hiss back.
"Maybe you aren't," he replies..."But Silver? He is within you, whether you like it or not...and Good always finds a way to vanquish evil, even if it is your own self." Then he pulls himself slightly up, nearing your face. "I know you're in there, somewhere, Silver...so if you can hear me...fight like The Hero I know you to be"
Then he slowly brings his head back against his pillow.
You stare at him incredulously. "This is not going to change anything."
"Maybe," Knighthowl replies with a light smile, "But old men can still dream, can't they?"
You leave then, your steps echoing through the metallic corridors of your lair.
Chemista stands working on a fluid of some sort -a crimson fluid- with German nearby when you step in.
There's a moment when your eyes meet, and then German excuses himself.
"What is it?"
"I think he's coming back," you reply shakily.
"Who?"
"Silver," you state. "He's coming back."
"That's impossible," Chemista snaps. "Mindium is forever. The mind control might not last long, but wiping a brain is something that does not bring back anything. Only mindium counteracts mindium, and nothing else! Even then, you'd need to have your memories forged back into your skull, and they'd always be by the prospective of an onlooker...no, there is no way Silver is coming back!"
"But what of..."
"Maybe it's your mind playing you tricks," Chemista remarks. "Really, but if you want to be sure of it...we can always go and grab that mindium shard at the HEROES museum. Of course, it will be heavily guarded..."
"I need to think about this," you reply.
"I'm always here if you need a hand, your evilness," Chemista replies. "Old women need something to do to let them believe they're important to the youth."
That is when you head to sleep.
Visual Novel Time
You're walking across the lair. It is empty. Well, it actually seems empty. You can hear sounds. It's the giggling of children. Their laughter turns to screams a moment later.
Their screams turn to silence afterwards.
Ahead of you, the lair divides in two parts.
One seems to head upwards, to where the Zeppelin are.
The other seems to go down, to where the Submarine is.
Which way do you go?
