First year of the game.

January 7, 2100
The Survey Task group discovers significant deposits of duranium and corundum on Luna, both with good accessibility.
  • Minerals Discovered on Luna: Duranium 2,471,665  [0.9], Corundium 2,336,496 tons [0.6]

An hour later, smaller deposits of Boronide, Sorium, and Gallicite were discovered on the comet Wild which was passing nearby.
  • Minerals Discovered on Wild: Boronide 6,961 [1], Sorium 6,258 [1], Gallicite 9,982 [0.9]

There are plans to move automated mines to Luna once colonization efforts on Mars are finished. As for the comet, it does not hold much value other than its Gallicite deposits so it will be ignored for now.

January 21, 2100
More minerals are discovered on the comets Chernyk and Van Biesbroeck.
  • Minerals Discovered on Chernykh: Corbomite 10,386 [0.7], Boronide 42,317 [0.8], Vendarite 60,320 [0.7], Uridium 8,463 [0.8]
  • Minerals Discovered on Van Biesbroeck: Duranium 29,776 [0.8], Corbomite 12,700 [1], Tritanium 8,428 [0.9], Boronide 104,840 [0.9], Mercassium 13,555 [1], Sorium 8,479 [0.8], Uridium 12,980 [0.7], Gallicite 3,319 [0.8]

Like Luna, plans have been formulated to make an automated mining colony on the more resource rich Van Biesbroeck in the near future.

Civilian Lines
The Jenkins Colony Group has launched its own freighter, the very first privately owned spaceship currently active.

February 23, 2100
600 units of infrastructure and 20 units of Financial Centers are manufactured in Earth. While there are plans to construct 1000 more units of infrastructure, this has been delayed to focus efforts on mining resources outside of Earth.

Currently, only two Lexington class Cargo ships are active (owned by the Department of Commerce) and both are busy shipping infrastructure to Mars. They would not be available until the end of the year. In order to bolster mineral reserves, priority has shifted to the construction of four Lexington class Cargo ships. These would allow earlier transportation of manned and automated mines without hampering colonization efforts.

March 6, 2100
The hulls of Four Lexington class Cargo ships are laid down on the Dae Sun shipyard after prefabrication of their engines and cargo handling system were finished yesterday. All four will be commissioned not later than August 24, 2100.

March 27, 2100
The Jenkins Colony Group has launched its fourth freighter. Now having more shipping capabilities than the DOC controlled Cargo Task Group, they have been contracted to help in colonization efforts by moving 100 units of infrastructure to Mars.

April 2, 2100
A civilian mining colony has been established on Van Biesbroeck, the first of its kind.  Of course, plans for a government owned mining colony on the comet have been scrapped. With these efforts, the DOC hopes that other private firms may follow suite and establish additional mining colonies on the resource filled comets ignored by the current administration.

April 13, 2100
Small yet accessible quantities of Boronide, Vendarite, Sorium, Gallicite, and Duranium have been discovered on the asteroid Pallas. A Navy owned mining base is approved and quickly established on the asteroid to support operations outside the inner solar system. Shipping of automated mines will begin in the near future.

April 16, 2100
After 4 months of training exercises, the Navy Home fleet has returned and is currently docked in Earth’s shipyards. They will eventually leave for a second exercise on September.

April 21, 2100
After some scheduling conflicts, the construction of 1000 units of infrastructure is green lit and will be finished on May 2.

May 6, 2100
With the previous task finished, construction of 10 research labs has been approved and would be finished by September 22. The Office of Scientific Research has been pushing for the construction of more research labs since last year but until now, it couldn’t be fulfilled due to lack of funds and different priorities of the current administration.

Navy defense gaps
The Navy currently lacks anti-missile capabilites other than the single twin laser turret of the Tribal class escorts of the SDF. In order to fill that gap, a new escort ship equipped purely with interceptor missiles is planned.

There is already an interceptor missile currently in use by the army but there are no missile launchers for it other than the ground based missile silos. To remedy this, the Navy has diverted the ownership of 5 of its leased research facilities to Raytheon for the development of a new missile launcher. The final plans of the escort ship should be finished by the end of June.

May 16, 2100
The Navy has contracted the Jenkins Colony Group to ship 10 automated mines to Pallas.

June 28, 2100
The final design of the Navy’s escort ship is finished.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
The design is heavier and faster than the currently in service Tribal class escorts. It  is equipped with 4 Raytheon Mk.3 Interceptor Launch bays which focus on rate of fire, allowing the ship to intercept at least 2 - 4 missiles per 15 seconds. The Navy plans to construct 6 to 8 of this ship for the home fleet which will give the Navy much needed anti-missile capabilities. Construction of the first Oliver H Perry ship will start on January next year once retooling of the needed shipyard is finished.

July 24, 2100
After years of research, Propulsion Scientist Aaron Frost and his team have successfully proven the possibility of interstellar travel by proving the existence of jump points, anomalies in space that are akin to a wormhole. While unproven, each is most likely connected directly towards another anomaly which exists in a different system. He theorizes that with sufficient energy, a wormhole could be opened to allow ships to enter and exit at the other point. However, the anomalies cannot be detected without a gravity sensor which has yet to be developed.

Following the day after the announcement, Aaron is awarded with the Nobel Prize for Science in light of his astounding discovery. The government awards Aaron and his team a huge sum of money as an incentive for them to begin development on a working jump drive, hopefully constructing the first functional prototype by next year along with the required gravity sensor.

August 14, 2100
To bolster the capabilities of the Space Defense Force, funding for the construction of four Tribal class Escorts has been approved. The first two would be completed on January next year with the use of some spare parts. The remaining two will be finished 2 months after the first batch.

August 24, 2100
The construction of four Lexington class Cargo Ships is finished. However, commissioning has been moved to November for an inspection after a major problem has been detected on one of the prefabricated engines.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

September 24, 2100
It is announced to the public that President Cameron Harrison is currently experiencing health problems which may affect him in the long term.
Public concern is quelled after the President personally announced that he will continue his presidency as long as his health permits it.

October 26, 2100
Two Naval shipyards owned by Lockheed Martin have been constructed. They are currently undergoing upgrades to meet the requirements of the Navy and SDF.

November 8, 2100
The first set of mass drivers have been constructed on Earth. While they are currently used for experiments and for launching small shuttles to space, it is envisioned that mass drivers may eventually see broader use such as shipping minerals between one planet to another.

DOC Lexington class Cargo Ships
After General Electric managed to correct the error found in one of their engines, the four Lexington class Cargo ships are officially commissioned and have already begun transporting automated mines to Luna. Once done, they will be used to help colonize Callisto next year.

November 23, 2100
A civilian mining colony has been established on the comet, Reinmuth.

November 27, 2100
Plans for the construction of three additional Essex class Colony Ships have been approved. They will begin construction once prefabrication of their engines are finished. Due to the complexity of the ships, construction would not be finished until the first quarter of 2102.

December 29, 2100
Due to the worsening health of President Cameron Harrison, he is forced to step down from his position and be indefinitely confined to a hospital. Doctors predict that he only has 6 months remaining to live. He is succeeded by Vice President Louise Hilton who will act as President until the end of her term which is two years from now. Some express doubt on the new President’s capabilities but most are giving her the chance to prove herself.

The best I can get for you is this Ensign initially named Kyle Sanders with the following:

Jack Euchre
  • Crew Training 100
  • Fleet Movement Training 260
  • Terraforming Bonus 15%
  • Xenology Bonus 10%
The Navy and SDF is still small so there aren't that many exceptional officers right now. Anyways, what do you want me to do for him?

Edit: Forgot to add your traits since I only checked it just now. Here it is:

  • Highly Educated
  • Imaginative

Oh, by the way; I'd advise naming each ship class after the first ship of it's class that was commissioned. The Ark Royal class started with the HMS Ark Royal, the Dreadnought class with the HMS Dreadnought, etc.

He seems quite promising, thank!

As for traits, best as I know, they do nothing and can be changed by the player at any time.  Still, those are some nice traits!

My goal is be on a ship, but until you've got a bigger fleet, I'll just hang out at the Officer's Club.  I've got a fairly long career ahead of me.

I'll most likely begin doing that to new Navy and SDF ships  and once the two have a more significant role. As of now though, only ships in the OSR are named after the ships of their class.

You have inspired me to come back to Aurora and finish learning it.

You should. It's fun (though not always) once you can tolerate some of the annoying issues and know how to play. :P

2nd Year of the game
January 2, 2101
A separate team led by Alfie Matthews has succeeded in the development of the first Gravitational Survey Sensor. A design for a gravitational survey ship is quickly created. Despite the rush for extrasolar exploration, the OSR could not construct the ship as they will need to wait two months for Mitsubishi Heavy Industries’ shipyard to be retooled. Instead, the task is delegated to the Navy who will utilize its 1000 ton capacity shipyard which has remained unused for several years.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

January 9, 2101
Following the momentum, Aaron Frost and his team recently announced that development of the first jump drive is now finished. The technology is still relatively new and inefficient, requiring long term research efforts before it could be used commercially and so is currently restricted to OSR ships.

The first jump drive is designed to allow ships of 1000 tons or less to jump. Due to its size, the planned jump tender will have no additional equipment other than the jump drive. The Jump Tender, once in service, will allow survey ships to explore systems beyond Sol once a jump point has been found.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
The first ship will be completed on April, three months ahead of the completion date of the first Sazanmi class gravsurvey ship.

January 21, 2101
The first two of the SDF’s new Tribal class escorts are commissioned. Both will be assigned to the newly founded 3rd Patrol Task Group and will be responsible for conducting patrols on Mars.

March 11, 2101
The last two of the SDF’s new Tribal class escorts are out of dock and commissioned into service. Both will be assigned to the new 4th Patrol Task Group which will help the 1st Task Group in conducting patrols on Earth and Luna.

March 18, 2101
In order to boost economic growth and colonization efforts, the administration has approved the construction of 8 new spaceports and 5000 units of infrastructure.

Ground Force
The Ground Force or the Army as the public calls them has started training 3 construction brigades along with a Brigade Headquarters unit to command them. Along with the new construction force, the Ground Force hopes to train and procure equipment for at least two heavy armor brigades, four light assault brigades and one artillery support brigade by 2015. In addition to that, the Ground Force hopes to establish a permanent base on Luna and Mars at the same year to better project its power.

The only problem they currently face is lack of budget as most of it is focused on space exploration and colonization.

April 7 - 12, 2101
Significant deposits of readily accessible Sorium (1,358,250 with 0.9 access) have been discovered on Io. In addition to that, the survey reports the following:

Minerals Discovered on Io:
     Duranium 663 (0.8 access)
     Neutronium 1,358,250 (0.4 access)
     Tritanium 613,136 (0.3 access)
     Boronide 361117 (0.6 access)
     Mercassium 119,709 (1)
     Uridium 2,122,266 (0.2)

Only four days later, a civilian mining colony has already been established on Io. The Navy as well plans to establish a base on the somewhat chaotic moon in the near future.

April 21, 2101
Due to Commander Zoe Rhodes meager performance as the head of High Command as well as allegations of bribery, he has been relieved of his position and demoted to Lieutenant Commander. He will be replaced by a better candidate, Commander Matthew Potter.

April 27, 2101
Ironically, Jupiter, which is far larger than Io, has only 1/3 the amount of Sorium deposits with a low accessibility of 0.4. This means that Io contains the only readily accessible source of fuel for colonization efforts in the Jovian moons and beyond.

May 1, 2101
In light of greater public support, Congress has given the OSR additional funds for the construction of two Kongo class Jump Tenders and one Sazanami class Gravsurvey Ship.

Navy
Construction of the first prototype for Oliver H Perry class Escort, the SRN Duffy has finally started after problems with the shipyard tooling have been resolved. Once done, testing of its main armaments will be conducted on Deimos before it will be renamed and commissioned on June 2102. The Navy hopes to have at least 4 in service within 5 years.

July 9, 2101
The Ground Force and Air Force have been struggling to modernize their forces ever since the end of the Unification War. While there are no direct threats as of this moment or in the foreseeable future, the current state of both forces would barely be a match to an army of the one of the independent nations during said war. This however was a necessity. After the end of the last war, the military was very powerful and had no enemies to fight. This caused widespread oppression around the globe and caused a huge dip in economic growth. In order to restore order, the URE administration took a pacifistic route in the next few years, resulting in the military losing a lot of its power.

Eventually though, the military will need to be modernized in order to properly defend the people from possible future threats. The first step to this is the construction of at least 6 Ground Force Training Facilities which upon completion allows the military to train two brigades at once. There are plans as well to provide both the Ground Force and Air Force with their own cargo and transport ships by next year.

Office of Scientific Research
With the first jump capable ship near completion, the administration has realized that very soon, the OSR will play a bigger role in humanities advancement. And so, a new law has been passed that guarantees the OSR a larger minimum amount of funds per year and more autonomy. In addition, ships under them will now use the prefix SSR (Ships for Scientific Research). Initially, the Office only used the non-official prefix RV which is short for Research Vessel.

July 12, 2101
The SSR Sazanami is now out of dock and is already heading towards potential places that may contain jump points. Once one has been discovered, the SSR Kongo will immediately be mobilized to perform the very first jump.

September 8, 2101
The other two Kongo class Jump Tenders, the SSR Kaga and SSR Shokaku are now out of dock and in standby.

September 26, 2101
Construction of the Ground Force Training Facilities is complete. Next in the pipeline is the automation of at least 150 manned mines scattered around the world.

Ground Force and Air Force
The Ground Force has begun training and procuring equipment for two Light Walker Battalions and one Assault Brigade Headquarters. Following them, the Air Force has also started training for two Fighter Wings and one Air Wing Command Headquarters.

September 28, 2101
The very first jump point has been discovered. It is located between the orbit of Saturn and Uranus, 561 million km away from the Sun. Lieutenant Junior Thomas Bell will have the honor of commanding the SSR Kongo and performing the very first transit in human history. The ship will arrive at the jump point in 1 day and 14 hours. Once there, they will send a message to the OSR and High Command and wait for confirmation before leaving.

September 29, 2101
The SSR Kongo makes history by making the very transit. Upon activating its jump drives, a brilliant flash of light momentarily obscures the ship. Thereafter, the ship was nowhere to be seen. Instead, it is now located in the other end of the jump point which is discovered to be Proxima Centauri system.
The system compromises a red dwarf, 6 terrestrial planets, 3 gas giants, 79 Moons, and 496 asteroids. Proxima Centauri-A II is the only candidate for colonization as it has the lowest colony cost out of all planets (x4.25). The only problems are the extremely cold surface, the thin atmosphere and 22% of it being composed of methane.

Despite that, the system itself has significant real estate and is a potential candidate for establishing numerous mining colonies once a full geological survey has been performed. However, this plan may only be truly realized if significant improvements on jump drives are made which may take some time.

October 2, 2101
The SSR Kongo returns to Earth. The commander and its crew are being hailed as heroes and have been awarded several medals and symbols as recognition of their contribution to the URE. Support for the OSR is at all time high as people call for further spending on research and colonization efforts.

 October 16, 2101
Sam Heath has finished his research on improving the EM Sensor technology of the URE. He now lies idle as priority is shifted to research in propulsion.

October 28, 2101
Two Akagi class survey ships, the SSR Soryu and SSR Zuikaku have been approved for constructions. They will be used to survey newly discovered systems once commissioned on April next year.

November 3, 2101
Daniell Carrol and her team have finished their studies regarding Sorium. Thanks to better understanding on how Sorium works, the team has successfully conceptualized an engine design standard that is more efficient than what is currently used. This has the unintended effect of advancing Ion engine technology by a few years, allowing research on the specific technology to be finished as early as January rather than the predicted 4 years required. The new standard will be used once Ion engines are available.

November 18, 2101
After much deliberation in Congress, it has been decided that Callisto is the next candidate for colonization. The 2nd Cargo Task Group which is composed of the four new freighters shall immediately begin shipping infrastructure to the Jovian moon.
As for the 1st Cargo Task Group, it will continue on providing infrastructure to Luna until it reaches the target maximum supported population of 15 million.

Department of Commerce
The DOC in a joint research with the OSR has successfully developed the first functional Sorium Harvesting Module. This allows a ship to safely harvest Sorium floating in the extremely dense atmospheres of Gas Giants. With the recent announcement of Ion engine research being near completion, plans for the first Sorium Harvester will be made once a commercial Ion engine is available which should be available no later than the 2nd quarter next year.

December 7, 2101
The SSR Hiryu and SSR Akagi are placed into dock for overhaul. This means that the URE currently does not have any active geological survey ships though the OSR plans to remedy that with the construction of the SSR Soryu and SSR Zuikaku once they are commissioned. They also plan to develop a new and larger Geological Survey Ship.

December 7, 2101
Two new jump points have been discovered in the span of a few hours. The SSR Kaga and SSR Shokaku Jump Tenders are dispatched to probe the system beyond the two jump points.

December 10, 2101
02:30
The Kaga finds itself on the Alpha Centauri system. It is a binary of a G-class primary and K-class companion. Orbiting the primary is a single unremarkable dwarf planet and the B component. The B component on the other hand has 1 planet, 2 gas giants, 4 moons (1 being a terrestrial planet), and 39 asteroids. The first and fourth moon of the gas giant Alpha Centauri-B III have a low colony cost of x1.90 and are good candidates for future colonization. In addition, its fourth moon has the bonus of containing water.

23:30
The Shokaku arrives on the Luytens Star System. It is composed of a red dwarf with 2 planets, 5 gas giants, 63 moons, 103 asteroids and 6 comets. While there is no potential for colonization, the presence of comets and multiple gas giants makes the system a good candidate for mining and Sorium harvesting.

Also, a slight correction - civilians use commercial ships, but you can't control civilians. So it's not civilian ships, but commercial ships. Otherwise, great job on documenting every wee thing that happens, and making it interesting to read! :)

Thanks. I'll take note of that for future updates.

An update should be coming tomorrow. I'm up to September 2102 but there's a lot of things happening thanks to the recent arrival of more ships. It's making the update a little hard to write. Nothing significant yet though other than the usual stuff.

1st half of 2102

January 25, 2102
The DFS Diamond was temporarily stranded in the asteroid field when its Nuclear Pulse engine experienced a mechanical failure. She lacked maintenance supplies to fix it though thankfully, the DFS Devonshire quickly moved to allow the crew of the DFS Diamond to temporarily repair her engine.

In light of this recent accident, the DFS Devnoshire and DFS Dido of the 1st Patrol Task Group will be put in overhaul. Once finished, ships of the 2nd Patrol Task Group will follow. The DFS Diamond will be scrapped for spare parts as the SDF pushes for the design of a new patrol and escort ship.

January 30, 2102
Theoretical research on Ion drives has been finished by Aaron Frost and his team. As mandated by the Navy, they have immediately begun development on the first Military Ion engine. It would be smaller than the currently used Nuclear Pulse Engines but would be 25% more powerful. In trade, it is more expensive to construct and consumes more fuel despite the more efficient design.

March 20, 2102
The SSR Ikoma and SSR Ibuki Gravitational survey ships are out of dock and are quickly commissioned by the OSR. They will help the SSR Sazanami in gravitational scans of Sol. Once done, each will be respectively assigned to one of the three other systems currently known by the URE.

March 25, 2102
The three new Essex class Colony Ships are finally commissioned, a welcome addition to colonization efforts. The CCS Terrel County will be assigned to the 1st Colonization Task Group while the CCS Terrebonne Parish and CCS Tallahatchie County will be assigned to a new group, the 1st Outer Colonization Task Group. The new task group will be responsible for ferrying colonists to worlds beyond Mars such as the newly founded colony on Callisto.

The industry of Earth has just finished constructing the last of the 100 mines planned. 50% of it is now allocated to the construction of 30 Research labs as requested by the OSR. The remaining will be dedicated to the expansion of Earth’s industrial capabilities.

April 10, 2102
Marianne Stauben and her team, comprised mostly of Boeings R&D research staff, have finished development on a new turreted single 200 ton LASER for the SDF’s new Escort ship.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
While it has the same tonnage as the older Tribal class Escorts, the Vanguard is faster and has thicker armor with only a marginal increase in cost. Its armaments compose of two individual LASER Turrets for better regulation of fire power and redundancy. Electronics installed are a Threat Detection LIDAR and Navigation LIDAR (which the Tribal class Escorts lacked). In addition, it has a twice the maintenance life when compared to Tribal class Escorts which the SDF required in order to lessen the frequency of future incidents.

Navy
The January incident involving the DFS Devnoshire has made the Navy place the Home Fleet into overhaul. This means that other than the SDF’s 3rd and 4th Patrol Task group, the URE does not have any form of defenses other than the Army operated PDC’s on Earth.

The Navy has therefore begun talks with the Congress for the approval of additional funding. This will be used for the development of new equipment, ships, and construction of navy bases on Luna, Deimos, Io and eventually, on Alpha Centauri and other systems. If funding is approved, the Navy will soon declassify some of their future plans.

Department of Commerce
Upon hearing the completion of Marianne Stauben’s research, the DOC has made requests to the OSR to use 15 of the newly freed research labs for research on Jump Gates. Though the OSR wished to use the research labs for further development on jump drives, they were not in rush and so accepted the request.

OSR
Two more jump points have been discovered at distances of 3.1 billion kilometers and 3.9 billion kilometers respectively. The SSR Kongo and SSR Shokaku are deployed to probe each jump point.

In research, Aaron Frost and his team has successfully finished development on a smaller version of the ION-10 Engine. It has the same output despite the smaller size though in return, the engine consumes 7 times the amount of fuel compared to the model it was derived from. As for the team, they are continuing their research on a new Ion engine, the next one being a commercial design which will be the largest engine of the URE once development is finished.

SDF
With the development of General Electric’s ION-05 (O) Engine, plans for the SDF’s on Patrol Crafts have been finalized.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
The SDF intends to have four of the Patrol Crafts which will be used to help patrol the lanes between Earth, Luna, and Mars though construction cannot start until next year for both of the 1000 ton capacity shipyards are currently under expansion.

OSR
Entering its second jump point, the Kongo discovers the Barnard Star system, composed of a red dwarf, 6 planets, 3 gas giants, 53 moons and 44 asteroids. Most notable is the second terrestrial planet with a breathable atmosphere, gravity 1 ½ times that of Earth and the presence of water. It’s cold surface temperatures of -19.5 put it at a very minimal colony cost of x0.34. The third terrestrial planet can be readily colonized as well and has gravity 1 1/3 that of Earth though it does not have any water or a breathable atmosphere (composed of 78% Nitrogen and 22% methane with an atmospheric pressure of 0.77), putting it at a colony cost of x2.30 which is only slightly higher than that of Luna or Mars.

With these new findings, the DOC and OCA are contemplating on whether Alpha Centauri or the Barnard Stars will be the first target for colonization. Alpha Centauri’s jump point is closer and the B Component, which has two low colony cost moons, puts it at a closer distance than Barnard Stars. On the other hand, Barnard Stars contains more real estate and habitable planets. A decision will be announced to the public in the near future though no specific date is given. The decision will most likely be based on both geological and gravitational survey results on both systems in the future.

Two new survey ships
The two Akagi class Geological Survey Ships, the SSR Soryu and SSR Zuikaku are commissioned into service. They will form the 2nd Geological Survey Task Group which will be responsible for geological surveys on Alpha Centauri and Barnard Stars. The SSR Kaga is mobilized and moves to the jump point to allow the two geological survey ships to transit from Sol to Alpha Centauri.

Shipbuilding
Previously, most ships had to rely on their components being manufactured on the day that the hull of a ship is laid down. This is due to the current priorities in construction and the pipeline that has built up from all the requests being made by each organization. In order to shorten construction time of ships, the administration has passed a law that allows each organization to utilize 10% of Earth’s industry when needed in order to manufacture ship components. If all of Earth’s industry is currently preoccupied with a project, then an organization may ask for authorization to take 10%. Of course, this power can’t be used on top priority projects.

With the rule taking effect immediately, the DOC’s request for the construction of cargo handling systems and cryogenic births from the previous month is quickly approved. The allocation needed is taken from the Industrial expansion project.

May 6, 2102
The SSR Shokaku discovers the Ross 248 systems, composed of a red dwarf again, 3 planets, 2 gas giants, and 42 moons. The 2nd planet of the system has ¼ the gravity of earth and contains water though it has a very thin atmosphere composed of 78% Nitrogen, 14.1% Methane, and 7.9% Ammonia along with a frigid temperature of -85.8. This puts its colony cost at x2.88 which is slightly higher than the colony costs of Mars and Luna and only half of Callisto and Io. The system though will be ignored for now as the Barnard Star System and Alpha Centauri are the current focus of the DOC and OCA.

May 14, 2102
The 1st Geological Survey Task Group is out of overhaul and will continue the task of surveying Sol.

May 19, 2102
Navy
The SRN Duffy is out of dock and in a single day, travels to Phobos and successfully launches a Raytheon Sea Dart interceptor missile towards Deimos before quickly returning to Earth. Her name will eventually be changed into the SRN Oliver H Perry after the installation of her new Ion engines.

OSR
Research on the new Commercial Ion engines is finally finished. Aaron Frost and his team have supposedly begun research on an Ion engine with Paxman Valenta research staff though details are scarce due to its classified nature. This has caused a small stir amongst spaceship and military enthusiasts.

DOC
With the new Commercial Ion engine, the DOC has formulated a new Freighter and Colony Ship design.

Another jump point has been found, marking this the sixth jump point discovered on Sol. It is located within the Kuiper Belt, 5.6 billion kilometers away from the Sun. The SSR Kaga is immediately sent out to probe the jump point.

June 16, 2102
Two more jump points have been discovered, the first is located close to the orbit of Neptune 4.2 billion kilometers away from the sun and the second is within the Kuiper Belt at 5.9 billion kilometers away, making it the most distant jump point yet. The SSR Kongo and SSR Shokaku are mobilized to probe the new jump points.

June 20, 2102
With the 10000 ton expansion of the Commercial Shipyard complete, retooling has begun for the construction of new Deutschland class Colony ships which would also allow the construction of Indiaman class Freighters.

June 28 - 30, 2102
The SSR Kaga discovers the Sirius system, a binary system of an A-Class A component with a single unremarkable Super Earth and a D-Class B Component.

Two days later, the SSR Shokaku enters its designated jump point and exits at the Luytens 726-8 system. It is another binary system of two red dwarves. The B component has three planets though other than the last planet with a colony cost of x6.39, the system is unremarkable.
