We can recruit more. We don't have to try and do ladder battles, it's just for fun, so that we actually are the Bay12 League, and besides, we can help each other with testing amongst ourselves to teach and learn and other happy-go-lucky phrases.

well, I guess eventually the people will just trickle in. Until then, lets give them a show

also, just find some mon that fits your team and has stealthrock. tada, volcarona suddenly looks a whole lot less intimidating. I am more worried about terrakion. that thing is brutal

I might go for an animal kingdom theme; bug, mammal, reptile, amphibian, bird, and fish.

Oh god...

Well, if I'm going to be bad at this game, I might as well do it with style.

Team Eeveelution.

Flareon
Vaporeon
Jolteon
Espeon
Umbreon

I'm also quite vulnerable to Taunt or phazing, because most of the Dances are self-boosts.  Set up Stealth Rocks and Spikes, follow up with Dragon Tail/Roar/Whirlwind sweep.  Team Prankster has me quite worried on that account.

The seventh is, of course, the sidebar Pokemon. All within the rules.

well, I guess you need a team, yes. if you have no idea how to make a team, I guess you can just give me a theme and I can build an effective team for you...maybe...some themes are difficult

I'm considering maybe joining up, but I am not a competitive person by nature so tournament formats turn me off, honestly.  I'm guessing someone who wants to just make a team and fight some doods casual-style from time to time would have to find somewhere else to do it, eh?

Depends on how you define "competitive."  I mean, you don't have to math out all the possibilities of your team, plan out likely counters, customize your EV spreads, and do all that stuff.  You can just throw a Pokemon into your team, pick out an ability and hold item, grab four moves from the big list (sorted by recommendations), then just go with whatever the auto-suggest fills in for your EVs and nature and call that a perfectly golden team even for tournament play here.  As Akroma noted earlier, we have somewhere around 3 people who play competitively out of all the people in the topic so far; we're not exactly VGC finalists or Smogon elite, here.  We're just having fun throwing together fun teams based on non-competitive criteria.

I think there's nothing wrong with just looking for a friendly match-up here, though, if you don't want to play in a tournament.

I have no problems with working on my team, hehehe.  I mean, I'm no metagaming expert, but I've played around with various builds and the like before; it doesn't bother me.

I just don't like competitions.  When it really matters who wins and who loses, I find it too much pressure for a game.  I prefer something where after it's done the outcome is pretty much erased from history, other than recalling isolated bits like "Man Kat completely trounced my Exeggutor-Houndoom combo that I thought was unbeatable."

I just don't do tournaments and stuff.
