Check the walls for any secret switches or hidden entrances, stay away from central crystal.

Check the water.  How deep is it?  Is it flowing?  Can I swim?  Anything else of note?

It's relatively deep - about six feet, between you and the door. You don't se any currents. You can swim, though not especially well.
