Is this still accepting players?

Might as well chalk it up to Pathos.
As this point we might as well invoke interpretive dance and call it a day.

It's accepting players until it doesn't say sign-ups in the title. That doesn't mean your character will get in, though. Each has a chance of being in the starting party based on application quality/interestingness etc.

Spoiler:  Ash (click to show/hide)

Ahhhh I've been going back and forth between 2 points in Strength or putting one in HP. I guess balanced approach FTW?

Think I'll roll up a non-human app as well, if that's alright. I feel like we're a little heavy on humans, but I've had this character in my head for a while so I wanted to get it up quick.

Name: Mowsalyn
Race: Custom-Mouser/ http://www.mariowiki.com/Little_Mouser
Gender: Girl
Bio: Mowsalyn (her nickname is Mow, Mowmow, Sally or Lyn as the mood strikes her) is barely noticeable from a distance-a diminutive rodentlike being with a round body-tawny sand colored hide, a long twitchy black tail that ends in question mark arch, her head topped with small and delicate round ears with a fuzzy grey interiors-and a pair of peeping, ocean blue eyes peering from behind a white bandanna that wraps around her upper body. She's also wearing the gear of an explorer, albeit in a small size-a tiny tan desert uniform and a halfsize fedora, a small shovel and a miniscule magnifying glass-all in very cute, mouser appropriate sizes. If you try to speak to her without warning, she will squeak and flee.

Few would guess behind Mowsalyns quaint and jumpy exterior lies an adventurous heart. Most of her kind tend to become daredevils and vagabonds of some sort, and she is no exception-she chooses to pilfer entirely abandoned structures, though, and prefers works of historical merit to mere coin-most of her time. Mowsalyn has spent her young life continuing her families work-exploring the history of the Mushroom Kingdom, deciphering it's sometimes boggling past-and then looting it. Her family runs the 'Pint-sized Archeologists Department' for similar beings-with an interest in uncovering old places and excavating them for profit and knowledge. It's fine work for an adventurer-plenty of fun, and most of the time the minimum of laws are broken. She tends to donate most of what she finds to museums that pay well...but, her kind is notorious for their materialism, and she cannot always be considered trustworthy in this regard.

This is actually the first time Mowsalyn is actually on her own, though-up till now, she has spent a childhood training and assisting her families expeditions all over the world. Now given that world to explore on her own, she's quite excited to begin. She just needs to find a team! The first rule of PAD is to never work alone...

Personality wise, Mowsalyn tends to be easy to startle, but she does not lack true courage-only nerve. As a small being, she believes it's extra important to be brave-but double points are awarded for canniness. Behind her bandanna lies a cunning and calculating intellect, one that carefully values all approaches. She tends to be open minded and accepts help readily-and rarely allows herself to become discouraged. For her, it's all about the prize-getting it, getting out. And keeping everyone safe. She is usually affable and friendly, but often becomes affronted if someone claims she's 'too small' for a task. Though she sometimes is. She'd often prefer to win by trickery over brute force-or avoid a conflict entirely. If backed into a corner, though, Mowsalyn will fight back with heroic effort, great courage belying her small size-which tends to influence the other, larger beings to fight harder as well. After all, who wants to be outdone by a mouse?

If pressed further by a friend-of whom she has few-she'll grudgingly admit a weakness for moon-cheese fondue, and a penchant to enjoy foot rubs in her off time. She enjoys star watching at night, the smell of the desert flowers from the dusty land she was born, and wonders what happens to Mousers who have died, and where they go. She asks herself everything, and wants to find every answer.

I shall thus attempt to join this RtD so that freeformschooler has an excuse for letting it die early.

Spoiler: Sir Bigglesworth (click to show/hide)

(I will also into art if Bigglesworth gets accepted.)

~Prologue~

Pwooo. Whuh... Pwooo...

A diminutive man behind the wooden counter inhaled, exhaled, inhaled. He didn't get much sleep last night. A red-and-white Toad Cap was pulled over his face, acting as a makeshift Sleeping Cap. He dreamed, appropriately, of being at home in his bed. A bell rung - DING - and the dream shattered like glass. The Register Toad scrambled to his feet, ready to serve.

"Hi! Helloo! Welcome to - welcome to the Hero Forge. Where Heroes are made!" He pulled his cap back over his head and looked over the five oddballs standing behind the counter.

In front was a very tall figure in a dark grey trenchcoat. The coat must have been too big because the only Human features protruding from it were a small head with long, brown hair up top and a pair of tiny shoes at the bottom. A paper application slid out of the coat's sleeve and onto the counter. Ash the Bounty Hunter, huh? A quick glance revealed he wasn't alone.

A Little Mouser in an ill-fitting desert garb hopped up and down, trying to see over the counter. Mowsalyn, the sheet read. Register Toad chuckled a little. You didn't see a lot of wannabe heroes like this. Her energy was a pleasant surprise.

Behind her was an even stranger applicant. A Pokey with a blue hue like the creatures that grow up underground. Weren't Pokeys plants? Whatever. Register Toad barely knew a thing about the desert, anyway. He looked down at the application. Roger. Interesting name for an adventurer like that.

Somewhere off to the side of the group stood a weary old Toad with a beer belly and stage one dementia. He sported a magnificent golden cape with chewing gum stuck to the bottom. His whole demeanor screamed "don't mess with me, kiddos, I'mma Paladin!" Let's see here - oh, Sir Bigglesworth. The Register Toad shot him a knowing nod.

Just barely tall enough to make eye contact, Mimic Guy stood behind the rest of the group. He was pretty clearly having trouble deciding which mask to use at this point, so he stuck with the neutral face for now.

"...Alright, aaaaand THERE! All registered. You'll need to decide on a team name and leader before starting a job, though. That's my favorite part, you know." Register Toad flopped back into a sitting position and spun around in his spinny chair, arms behind his head. It was hard to hear him over the endless chatter and footsteps of other adventurers walking around the buildings and checking out the stalls. "Go, talk amongst yerselves. I'll show you the list when you've decided."
