((That was a couple turns of combat. Did any of us gain some mastery?))

((You don't get mastery in combat, and everyone's badges are in stasis between missions. You'll start getting it next turn.))

Mows nodded as well.

"Oh yes, we were booked passage to Isle Delfino. I think we're all quite ready to go. Feels like we've been here for weeks!" She said, immediately gently pushing everyone toward the ship, if they didn't go themselves. It was less of a push and more of a gentle nudging, of course.

As Mowsalyn & Co. hopped on board, the captain nodded to each of them.

: "Welcome aboard, then! I'm Captain Cruz, the official dockmaster for all low-ranking Mushroom Kingdom Heroes. To Delfino Isle we go!"

((oh god I do not know how to draw boats))

Twinkle, twinkle. The sun said nothing, but the Seekers heard it. Bearing down on their skin (or plant fiber, whatever), the group reminisced about their past and wondered about their future on the way to Delfino Plaza. Some lived in the Kingdom all their lives, but others traveled from far away - farther, even, than the boat trip on Cruz's tiny steamship.

[3]

After a long, cramped hour on the ship, a storm started brewing north - right where they were headed. Dark clouds carefully coalesced around their only light source, and the ocean grew grim in color AND force. Their Captain told them to hang tight - this little ship'd been through its share of afternoon thundershowers.

For now, all the Seekers could do was talk, unfortunately. Even though storms were common on the great blue, they couldn't help but feel uneasy about the journey ahead...

((ha, finger's keepers...))

Ash sat in the corner, slumped crookedly against the wall. Suddenly she lurched to the side and began muttering to herself.

"Hey, careful down there, I almost fell!"
"urf oh my stars Ashley I am not doing so well you seriously need to go find me a bucket or a Ziploc bag or something before I lose my lunch all over the place"
"Come on, how can you be seasick? You can't even see the ocean from down there!"
"well no but I can feel it like we're bouncing up and down real fast like we were in one of them old timey popcorn machines they had at the museum with the butter pouring in the hopper where the popcorn spills over into the bin when they're done oh urgh I should not have visualized the butter aspect of that image that was a poor decision on my part for sure"

Ash glances toward Roger as the Pokey speaks up.

"Hm. Now that you mention it, it does seem to be getting pretty stormy out there."
"oh no this is not good Ashley seriously I would settle for an empty shoe or something because it is going to be hard to explain how come we're all standing in an inch of spew if I don't have a way to contain this imminent gastronomical disaster"
"Just keep it together for, like, another hour, tops."

Roger sways unevenly, overhearing portions of Ash's muttering. He wobbles over to his equally tall companion.
"Keep... what together?"

Ash looked up, startled.

"Hm? Oh. OH. I, uh, what I said was that we should... keep together. You know, because we wouldn't want to get separated in the dark, on this boat. Never split the party, right?"
*HOARGHHHHuhhh*
"Ahhahahaha, boy, am I hungry! Please excuse my stomach. Anybody bring any sandwiches?" Ash's face disappeared into her trenchcoat. "Are you alright dow- WHAT. DID YOU DO."
"oh wow I feel so much better maybe I wasn't seasick after all because usually throwing up does not make you feel better in that case right so it was probably that fruit they gave us at the orphanage this morning it smelled pretty off but you know Strive for Five and all that"
"DID YOU JUST RALPH INTO THE SLAVERY SPHERE!?!"
"well I mean I suppose I did I mean it's not like you got me a bucket or anything despite my repeated requests so I just had to improvise in the heat of the moment and oh hey look at what is the only thing in our pockets now that we spent all our money"
"Yeah, we spent it all on that thing you just vomited into! That was crazy expensive and now it's sticky and vile!"
"calm down it was already pretty vile in the first place when you think about it and really if we are already subjecting a monster to the indignity of being captured in a little round ball it won't be much more insulting if it also happens to smell like the tilt-o-whirl at the carinval and really this was way better than a bucket I mean this little thing holds a lot of fluid and I don't think it's even full yet it's pretty amazing and a real marvel of engineering"

Ash reemerged from her trenchcoat, wobbling to her feet.

"Actually, forget that keep together thing for a minute, I need to step outside and... throw up. Into the ocean. From my mouth. Yes."

Mowsalyn couldn't swim well, but she had been on plenty of boats-most much better built than this one, she thought to herself.

Unaffected by the waves and motion due to her stature, she nibbled on a cheese block, cutely.

"Don't worry! I've seen worse storms than this." she piped up. "I was once on and away on a Goop freighter with my family in the waters of the Muda Kingdom when this HORRIBLE STORM attacked our ship! A GIANT WAVE washed over the deck! It was the size of the castle-with an angry face and everything. Then, the ship actually ROLLED over underwater!" She said, exclamation points popping over her head.

"The ship sank of course, and we spent a week on an deserted island filled with feral mouse-eating yoshis. We escaped by burning our underdrawers to make a signal fire!

...

I mean to say, this storm is really totally nothing in comparison to that. Though, our ship is much smaller..."
she says.

Mows continued to nibble on cheese as the ship began to rock ever so slightly harder. She hoped the ship didn't sink before the adventure even started...

A flash of lightning and thunder suddenly came, causing her to jump four feet in the air and sending her cheese block flying.

"Yipe!"

...

"...I dropped my cheese. Does anyone see it?"

Roger nods towards a pile of objects in the corner.
"Under... that bucket."
