Tacticus Rules

I think the game Tacticus could be a fun forum game, if given some rules. I propose that we use this thread to establish those rules.

Certainly does, Timmy.

But I still don't think you're quite getting it. Tacticus HAS rules, we're playing by them already. Maybe if you reread our current game and try to play a few rounds, you'll get the gist of it  :)

1)Rules are to be established as the round progresses
2)Rules may be modified at any time

Thats what I've seen of it.

Yep, it's like Calvinball, one of the funnest games ever.

There's got to be at least a few main immutable rules. Otherwise chaos insues.

Well, one of the rules of Tacticus would be to not talk about the "rule of no rules". See the problem there? The other rules can be learnt simply from observing a game of Tacticus. Also, how do you tally points in Calvinball? Exactly. The points have a point unto themselves.

The only rule you need to remember; "Tacticus is to be won with awesomeness".

Example of awesomeness that would yield points: "Wise men often quote other wise men. The wisest quote themselves." - Blargh.

Which would be funny/awesome enough to yeild points.

Get it now?

Edited for clarity:

If you start setting up a bunch of Tacticus rules, you kind of defeat the point and the fun of the game. Tacticus isn't ment to be simply "played", it's meant to be EXPERIENCED.

Tacticus has a definite yet very delicate set of rules.

Mentioning them would change them.

so its sorta like "the game"? that one that every one is playing and the people who no the rules are the only ones who can win exept one of the rules is about knowing a rule that makes you lose so no mater what you can't win if you aren't ignorant if you know you are playing its prety much over...... waite..... uh oh i guese you all lost to eh? (i lost a long time ago so now instead of playing to win i play to meet a undefined goal that may have to do with world domination or wood chucks all i know is i have to make every one loose so im not alone in the loser circle)
