Will should hear a faint sound of metal crunching on stone. So should Lucas and Gerard.

Angel jumps in surprise.
"Hm. Sounds like something big is in there...probably awoke just now, likely of an inorganic composition--metal or stone or something...big, from the sound of it...judging from other sounds, I'm hunching on sapient."

Everyone in the cells between Angerus and Richard ((Cyrielle, Catherine, Camille, Nuriel, both Angels, Dorian, Maria, Tori and Selina)) should hear the conversation.

Lucas Dodges with great ease [!40!]and feels as if he should somewhat understand what's going on, but then remembers it's not his power to make creepily accurate conclusions based on minute details.

"Whatever is in there is not in there of its own volition...probably captured. Given that this building was modeled on the Colosseum and the connotations associated with it, I suspect that it is some sort of intelligent metallic monster brought here to fight...something.

"I imagine that they would be hard-pressed to hear you, given the volume the one was speaking at, and if they could, they would be unable to operate the gate, given that they are trapped in some sort of...cell or pit or something. Or cells or pits, plural."

Catherine's doubts about there possibly being two of Angel disappear, and then she just assumes that Angel is in the same cell as some other people.
Lucas notices the bit of shrapnel in Izzy's arm, and hurries over to her.
