"I'd rather not. How about this instead, we preemptively attack it, kill it, mutilate it's corpse, and hang it out as an example? Anyway, shouldn't you people be able to handle it?"

"We're not sure. This isn't a well-documented dragon; strength, both physical, mental, and magical, vary greatly between dragons. This one is definitely a big one, though, which means it probably isn't lacking in any of the three."

"What's in it for us? I don't intend to risk my life for someone else's cause."

"For starters, you won't get eaten by a dragon. In the past, when superhero or -villain teams lost to dragons, they tended to attack any parahumans they come across which they thought could be connected to the organization.

"Anyways, what was in it for you when you helped take down those villains?"

"Implying I actually participated in that conflict. I have no obligation to assist with this threat, if all goes well, we'll be out of this world before it even arrives. So how about we start negotiations rather than having you simply expecting us to help you?"
