SEE-SAW'S CLINIC
Simega and Francis enter the building through the side door, which is unlocked. Moving through the building, they find no signs of battle in the halls, or peeking into the individual rooms. But when they enter the larger room towards the front of the building, they find out why this place wasn't barred up.

This appears to be the main medical facility in the town. Beds line the walls, and various drugs can be seen on the tables. Two ghouls lie on the ground, blood pooling beneath them, guns to their sides. They wear leather armour, as the other guards at the north post wore. A ghoul wearing a doctor's coat is slumped in a corner, but not bleeding. There is one other ghoul, too. He's lying on one of the beds, unconscious. It is then that you both have a realization. This is the building where Micheal, your doctor companion, was stationed. He is nowhere to be found.

GHOST TOWN
[1+2+2+3-2=CRIT FAIL] Clair does the best she can, and patches up the wound adequately, but this girl needs a real doctor, and fast. Even then, Clair finds, with her limited medical knowledge, that this slave doesn't have a good chance of surviving.

SOUTH GUARD POST
[12+2=14] You can see for certain that several people came through and/or left through this post. The foliage around the post is clearly disturbed, which is odd considering this side of town gets little traffic. The attackers came through this area, and likely left the same way. Your train of thought is disturbed by Witt's neutral voice.

"I'm going back into town. Someone there is going to explain to me what happened, who attacked us, who was killed or what was stolen, and why in God's name my men aren't stationed here. Whoever it was, whatever they did, I'm going to get even," she says with unnerving calm. With that, the ghoul spits on the ground and marches back into town.

Take her to the clinic, wake the doctor and have him treat her then go strip the dead enemies of all equipment.

"Sounds like a plan," Gaze murmured aside to Witt as she passed him, still watching the horizon with a thoughtful, somewhat distracted look.
It might have outwardly looked like he was still scanning the scenery for clues, but in truth he was coming down from his dose of jet, his thoughts crawling lethargically through his head, bumping into one-another like brahmin in a cattle press.

He stays there awhile before shaking off this sluggishness, wiping his face, heaving a sigh and heading off back to town.

>Hang around the guard post for a while now that there's no immediate threat, "scanning" the area for "clues".

> Then get my shit together and head back into town. Stay on guard, but mainly just look around at the state of the place. Maybe ask some survivors just what happened, if they appear to be capable of talking.

>More importantly, find one of the dead attackers and expect their gear for any markings or symbols. Do they look like members of any faction I'm familiar with?

GHOST TOWN
Witt walks back to the centre of town and calls out to the citizens.

"Olly olly! Everyone, get the fuck out here!" Slowly, the doors unbar themselves and the citizens of the town come back out. Some injured ghouls are being assisted by their friends, heading in the direction of the clinic. Several ghouls crowd around Witt, reporting the events to her.

Both Clair and Gaze approach survivors and ask questions. After a few minutes, both find out that about a dozen or more slavers from the Slaver's Chain invaded the town while the firefight was going down on the north side of town. Half of them headed straight for the clinic, while the rest spread out and attempted to kidnap as many ghouls as possible. Some ghouls attempted to fight back, but they were easily taken care of by the well armed slavers. A few off-duty guards went to the armoury, but they found it sealed, and the terminal securing the door was destroyed. Most of those asked say that the attack makes little sense. Slaves are moderately valuable, but a handful of captured ghouls aren't worth the effort the Chain put forward staging this attack.

As for dead attackers, there are none. Well, there's the raiders at the guard post, but they hold nothing that associates them with a faction. But the testimonies from the ghouls in town place the blame on the Chain. However, Gaze is skeptical of this. Chain slavers rarely enlist the help of raiders, if they even can in the first place. And Gaze doesn't know of anyone in town worth capturing. At least, he's pretty sure there's no one that valuable...

Rachelle finds herself near the centre of town. Ghouls are starting to come out of their homes, and she can see a group gathered around Witt. Clair walked off to find answers, and Sam carried the slave girl off somewhere. Francis and Simega took Witt's advice and spread out, looking for any other enemies. You're not sure where Gaze is. You've also lost track of Hobbes, Janice, and Daniels.

SEE-SAW'S CLINIC
Francis looks around for his fellow vault dweller, but can't find signs of him anywhere!

Simega finds that both ghouls on the ground are dead, fatally shot to the chest and head. The doctor ghoul in the corner wakes up as Simega examines him. He groans in pain as he looks up at the hovering vault scientist. "Ack... Son of a... Where are they?" he asks as he slowly rises to his feet. "Did you see them? Where are they? The slavers?" he continues after a moment, looking around the room. "Did they get away?"

Soon, Sam shows up through the front door, carrying a dying slave girl. However, the doctor is distracted right now, and pays no attention to Sam.

Gaze ponders the info he's gathered, face set in a frown.
'Funny that the attack came so soon after the vault kiddies got here. Wonder if there's a connection? Did any of them get taken?'

He shrugged that off for now, adjusting the strap of his rifle and beginning to make his way back through town as he wracked his brains. He took care to step over or around any scattered bodies, and gave way to those limping their way to the clinic.
He scanned the crowds as he went, searching out any of the vault dwellers he could spot.
'Have to count 'em up later on. ...Should probably find out if the slave they sent knows anything, too.'

>Head back towards where everyone is gathering.
>Think over what I know about the Chain slavers- do they ever work with the Clerics, their habits, usual targets, notable allegiances they have and where they usually operate.

>If on the way I see any injured ghouls unable to reach the clinic, take a moment to help them over there, or better yet get someone else to do so while I continue on my way.

GHOST TOWN
Rachelle starts her search on the north side of town, where the raiders were. Maybe one of them got through? She stands right outside the guard post, when she hears something. Crying. Inside the building, the one on which the watch tower stands, Rachelle finds an injured Janice sitting against the wall, sobbing. One raiders, one you never saw before, is limp on the windowsill on the east side of the room. Looks like he was trying to squeeze through the small window, then got shot for his trouble. Another raider lies near Janice, unmoving.

Gaze heads back to the group gathered around Witt.

He recalls a few things about the Chain. One, they're the biggest slaver group around, and moderately to very powerful as a faction. They are never known to work with the Clerics, as their goals rarely match up. The main force of the Chain operates out of a base far west of here. Usually they threaten communities with attack, with the goal of getting a tribute of healthy slaves. Otherwise, they capture random people found out in the wastes. They are known to have several large camps around these parts, but your not sure where they are. They are not allied with anyone, in the traditional sense. They see themselves as a business, supplying the more seedy or evil factions with a supply of slaves.

You do note that this attack makes little sense, from a slaver's point of view. One, ghouls make less than valuable slaves. Well, labour slaves. Many ghouls have weaker constitutions, less endurance, and bad joints. Mostly, older ghouls are valued for their knowledge, so specialist ghoul slaves are still viable trading commodities. Even still, people just plain don't like ghouls. A slave buyer will take a human over a ghoul in most cases, out of simple disgust, unless they have a niche position in mind.

SEE-SAW'S CLINIC
The doctor rubs his head and sighs. "Four assholes from the Chain came in here." He walks over and checks the vitals of the dead ghouls. "Sardine and Carol... these two on the floor, they came in right before. They were telling me that they were tricked, that there was an attack, that they didn't have any guns... I don't remember everything. Then the four slavers came in, went directly for the smoothskin, Micheal. When Sardine and Carol tried to stop them with their knives, they each got a bullet, then one of the fuckers smacked my upside the head..." Other ghouls start filing in, injured or helping injured friends. "Look, I have to take care of my people. Go tell Brakes or Witt what I told you, and quickly."

Go strip the dead enemies of equipment.

Are you dropping the girl off? You might want to tell the doctor of her need of help. Or you can just leave her here and hope for the best.

Tell doctor she needs help, then go strip the bodies. If he asks she's my little sister and I managed to save her. Sort of.

SEE-SAW'S CLINIC
[4+1+3-2-1=5] "Huh? I need to tend to my people first," he says. He looks at the dying slave girl with some restrained pity, before checking her vitals. "She needs blood, and I don't have the time to give her a transfusion. I'm sorry," he says, before attempting to walk over to another, less injured patient. Unless you wish to stop him.
