Hm? You're wondering what you're doing here? Oh, I know what happened, you just got your door kicked down and told that you have to report to the Ministry of the Interior immediately by armed soldiers, right? Well, don't worry, it's all good news from here on out! You were selected by our Glorious Leader because you showed the best traits of a Minister of the Interior! That's right, you're now Minister of the Interior! The previous Minister was killed in an unfortunate incident involving several soldiers kicking down his door and shooting him in the head by accident, so now we need a new Minister. That's where you come in! Your duties are to watch over our Glorious nation of Tejekov and protect it from shadowy threats like American spies and rebel groups.
What are you supposed to do here? Well, it's simple. You just stay at your desk and enjoy the benefits of being a minister, while I (your loyal assistant) gather information about dissidents, coordinate strike teams to dispatch the dissidents, and supervise the interrogation of these dissidents. All you have to do is tell me what I should do; my job requires you to give me orders, you see. Just give me a few suggestions and it'll be fine. Consider it like a game! A suggestion game, if you will!

You should read the one marked "Current Status" as that shows how we're doing right this second, though. What should we do for now? Well, I dunno, you're the boss. We don't have anything major going on right now, but we could try training our troops, getting better interrogation tools, or perhaps you have something else planned. Your choice, sir!
This is a suggestion game about being the leader of the secret police in one of the few communist nations after the fall of the Soviet Union. There are some rules, but you aren't limited in your actions and it's quite freeform: the rules are just there for certain circumstances like battles and interrogations. You can post whatever action you wish that would make sense for the leader of a ministry to make.
The first thing we do when handling problematic peoples is to begin rooting them out. We can detect where there may be dissidents or spies, but we cannot actually detect where they are until we send in spies. We have a limited number (As of speaking, we have one group) that we can only send into one district at a time and if the threat is left untreated it is likely that the thoughts will spread to other districts, which will result in unpleasant things if it goes out of control. There is the districts of Gardai, Orasularma, Dymchasty, and Kanski. Each district has a threat level: Loyal (No-one is actively conspiring against the state), Suspicious (There is one subversive agent leading a conspiracy against the state), Rebellious (There is two subversive agents leading a conspiracy against the state: Other districts may become affected by the subversive agents), and Riotous (There are three subversive agents leading a conspiracy against the state: Operations within the district will get considerably more resistance then unusual).
After confirming the location and identity of the subversive elements, we send in a Ministry Strike Team. As of speaking, we only have one such group: MST-1 "Old Guard". We begin by cordoning off the area where the rebels are located, and send in the Strike Team to root them out by any means possible. The goal is to capture the dissident leader(s) and bring them into custody. The chaos of the situation means that there may [REDACTED BY ORDER OF THE MINISTRY OF WATCHING OTHER MINISTRIES], so keep on the look out for that. Ministry Strike Teams can be hired for various amounts: you can pay 5,000 for Rookies, 10,000 for Novices, 20,000 for Professionals, and 50,000 for Experts. Existing Strike Teams can be trained for similar prices. Generally, the higher the price, the better the team. You can also give a Strike Squad tank support, air support, or artillery support to get a larger chance of victory. However, this will cost 10,000, 40,000 and 80,000 respectively.
When you have secured the rebel leaders, you shall take them into interrogation in order to gain knowledge of the rebels and see if they are spies for foreign forces. They shall be taken to the interrogation cells where a compliance ensurer, a negotiator, and a medical technician stand by to interrogate the leader. A radio is set up to allow you full transcript of the interrogation, with the benefit of being able to give orders for enhancers to the interrogation, such as sedating the leader or applying physical force to him in order to ensure total compliance with the state. However, it is not as simple as interrogating the leader until he finally gives you the information you require. You have to balance their health and will. Will is what makes them stubbornly stupid enough to not give you the information immediately, and health is how long until they eventually die from the force of the interrogation. Do not let the leader die during interrogation: this looks very bad to the foreigners and they will pounce on it like starving cats. At the moment we do not have the best of interrogation equipment, but you can spend money to buy interrogation tools. You may request a list of possible interrogation tools and enhancers to purchase. Be warned! Some interrogation tools can be incredibly effective but may have side-effects.
After the operation, there will be naturally questions raised. Not by our loyal citizens of course, but by the outside press. Even with our best efforts, we cannot stop them from asking about our latest dissident crackdown, and they are very fragile. They cannot understand we do not let rebels run wild in the streets mowing down woman and children like they do in America, and thus your job is partially damage control. You can do several things. You can tell them the unvarnished, which is a bad idea. Terrible idea. Never do this. You can do the proper thing and smooth out the rough edges of the truth a little. Those dissidents that were killed? They were in fact injured in action and sent to prison. Those civilians who got caught in the firing line? They gave their lives to Tejekov to provide a brilliant distraction for the rebels. Our propaganda department handles this by bribing civilians, cleaning up evidence, and creating alibis. For every 5,000 rubles they are paid for their service, the more likely they'll get the western media off your back.
Due to the slowness of the bureaucracy, the majority of official actions will take a week. If you need to be reminded, there are four weeks in a month.
Funding is handed out every four months by our Glorious Leader depending on your progress. There is a baseline of 5,000 rubles. For every live dissident captured, 10,000 is added. For every dead dissident leader, 5,000 is added.
