Think of it like an MP system. Except completely recharged at the end of each turn with one for each stat. You allocate a portion of your pool to each target for offense or defense. The more you allocate, the better your chances. So if it's something like DEX, you allocate some to the person you want to kill and allocate the rest of the people pissed at you. If you just really want to kill the prick, you could allocate all of it into the murder department and hope you can tank the other attacks.

What, precisely, is changed? All we're doing is actually putting some logic into rolls. The way it is now, I can probably fudge, say, the Construct so his absorption of magic is just nigh-uncounterable. We barely have any other rules anyway, short of the Decalogue, which is meant to stop people from borking other characters.
