She sits there for a moment, taking a drink and thinking carefully.
Daeron heads off for a moment, before returning with a glass of reddish slurry.
"Your tongue'll be numb for three days but you'll be a lot less drunk, lass."

Tasrak stares at Lucinda.

"You could compete with a Gnomish scholar in a verbosity contest and win you know that?"

[Empiricist]

"I usually feel a bit numb so it shouldn't be too much of a problem. Thanks!" Silica quickly drinks it.
"Excuse thy impertinent insensitivity, but, please allow me the crime of inquiring about the importance of your family, is separation really of such catastrophic consequence?"
"Vocabulary and prose alike are for use, are they not? To simply allow these terms to languish and decay in the forlorn corners of our minds would be a blasphemous travesty, would it not?"

Yukari nods in agreement.
Silica should feel like her mouth is on literal fire right now. Daeron takes a quick swig from his tankard.

[Empiricist]

"Excuse thy impertinent insensitivity, but, please allow me the crime of inquiring about the importance of your family, is separation really of such catastrophic consequence?"

((He was asking Yukari.))
Silica promptly topples over and tries to resist the urge to transmute her tongue into perpetually solid ice.

((And she was agreeing with the separation being, well, BAD))
"The burning'll go away in about two minutes. After that, you'll be tasting metal in your mouth for a bit; not more than an hour, thankfully, lass."

"Prose is common among my people. Some people aren't as used to it though."

Silica attempts to thank him or the timely advice but is too busy clutching her mouth in the futile hope that it would help her situation.
"But surely, family changes dramatically with the endless attrition of time's colorless sands, does it not? After all, I am of no parents and that has failed to perturb me in any relevant manner."
"Ouch... look, this may sound strange, but of all the tragedies you've told me, that is undoubtedly the most horrific. If half the people I knew spoke like that, I'd just exile myself from society, or cap myself. Repeatedly. Just to be sure."

[IamanElfCollaborator]

"I am not immortal, Montanari-san. I have only one life to live."
Yukari sighs, looking around.
"I assume, of course, that I am the only one with family left?"
Daeron....doesn't know what to do. So he just waits for Silica to stop experiencing burning.

[Empiricist]

"Nor am I, and I have in countless instances within my lives possessed family, but, surely, people of your world do not necessarily need family? After all, is not family chosen rather than born into?"
Silica's antic continue for a while before she finally gets back up. "Ah... much better. Once again, thanks."

[Vgray]

"That's how our Dwarvish cousins feel. They survive, somehow."

[Empiricist]

"Well, they certainly have my respect then... What are their annual suicide rates like?"

"...in my world, we are born into a family, and we do not have reincarnation, no matter what we want to believe."
Daeron hands her a glass of goat's milk.
"It'll help....slightly."
