And then the one that went off behind you sweeps your legs, causing you to fall over, though the limb it does that with and several others shatter as a side effect of armor. A few more hits should finish it off ... but you're on the ground and it's looming over you, visibly juddering as something grows out of it.

Yukari is already in wind form. She helps hide Fuuka and Wikus. She then heads off to see what's going on.
Kaori is helping the survivors.
The Pierrot siblings are trying to find a safe place, with Gilbert and Robert.
They find safe haven within the Doge's palace, though many of the populace have already been massacred. The things don't leave wounded.
Their lack of vision is but an intangible wall to sight!

Lilja drops her rifle into its scabbard, spins around and taps her phone before displaying its screen at the cube. A page quickly loads and a magical shockwave erupts out from the website: lolbasilisks.com It's just like lolcats.com! Except with less cats and more basilisks! The current image is of a basilisk with a monocle and top hat. Even if the cubes cannot see, they are affected by it.
Roll to determine the status effect. A very low roll would be something like "slightly sparkly", a low roll could be "minor poison", a medium roll may be "on fire", a high roll could be "drug overdose", a very high roll would be instant death and a critical would be "localized magical genocide".
Actually the Super-Ego just fades whilst its owner exits combat.
Florencio goes near the engines and evicts cubes via more thruster spells.

The cube visibly withers before your eyes as the basalisks do stuff or whatever. It lunges forward still and bites your hand, though, then latches on. Kinda hurts.
Wat do?
The cubes go attack some more people when the thing vanishes.

Since the cubes are trying to get at the engine via the exhaust, it's a relatively simple matter to vent them out and thrust your crotch at them while hooting a victory hoot. The cubes seem disoriented by this tactic.

Kyle and Kyle seem rather calm. They've both donned their respective armors and are staring down the cubes.
*Attacky stuff*
The fae of the two glares at the cube before pulling out a twelve of swords.
"Making it rain!"
Cue rain of magically guided swords.
The human sighs and raises his hand lifting the cubes into the air before crushing the and sending them barreling into the ground at high velocity.
(insert face into meat grinder)
The swords pierce the cube and seem to stick in there like skewers. They slowly slide out, leaving smoking wounds.
The cube in turn grows several swordlike protrusions and attempts to stab you in the face. Wat do?

They seem bludgeoned a bit by the attack, though being flying cubes themselves they don't take too much damage.
Also there's only one.
It opens up a port on it's front and shoots what seems to be an orb of fire at you. Roll d6, 3 or higher to dodge.
Jerik Brings down the thunder on these cubes. Literally. He's literally using chain lightning to fight them.
Coyote seems to be doing a mix of acrobatics, a few one-liners, and machinepistols.
Catherine's fighting seems to rely on just various ice/water attacks.
Oh hey, it's Lucas. What's he doing? Ripping apart the cubes with his mind, why do you ask?
Grace is just trying to open fire on a few scattered cubes.
N'Kraan is nearby still, It's arms fourfold, with a series of lasers emitting from them, lancing out at some of the cubes.
Elizabeth is currently trying to run for cover, seeing as she basically is defenseless.
Lucas is just covering her escape, along with a few other civilians who are no doubt fleeing.

Thunder guy: The one you lightning bolt absorbs it seemingly without trouble and arcs of electricity start crackling around it as it charges up for something. Wat do?
Anthro coyote dude: A cube whips at you with several long, razor-sharp tendrils as your bullets embed themselves in it. Wat do?
Catertine: You manage to crack a cube completely in half, but before it dissolves it sends the ice chunk you used to do it spiraling back at you. Roll d20, 8+ to dodge.
Undecisive guy: You rip four cubes apart into little tiny bits!
Then they start putting themselves back together into one giant cube.
Shit.
Wat do?
Other two characters: Since they seem to be ignoring the Doge's palace, you run there with a few old ladies.
Alith helps whichever Lucas he recognises, using his bow and arrows.

You help shatter the four cubes and promptly are in bad spot because giantcube.
Vix heads for a defensible location, but while doing so he does several things. First, he gets his staff, his sword, and his armor out of his bag.
Afterwards, he takes the cold aura around him and boosts it to the point of freezing (or at least severely slowing) anything caught in it besides him and the cryswarm, the latter which is ferociously attacking any cubes within its reach in a way you'd expect from a swarm of durable enchanted crystal shards. Anything he can see outside of the cryswarm sphere (not a ton, but enough to know where he's going at the least) gets a sharp mass of ice shot at it.

You get your gear and cool down the air around you to such an extent that the air freezes solid. Now unable to see because of the metallic hydrogen you made, you loose a few random shots and the GM tells you you missed apart from a glancing hit on a random button lying in the streets. Your ice swarm does pretty good though; tears through one before being assailed by another that unfolds itself and attempts to devour them.
Yukari looks for Lucinda. If anything, he would know what's going on. Anyone looking at Yukari would see a grey, translucent spirit, with green glittering dragonfly wings flapping behind her.
So yeah, Daeron is very confused.
Nothing attacks you and stuff.
The Wanderer pulls out an SAW and shoots it at the Cubes.
"Ah shet, nat again..."
You pull a rifle out the crack of your ass and take a few potshots at the cube in front of you, which deftly ignores them and makes to stab you with a hooked blade thing. d100, 40+ to dodge.
A blast of blue energy smashes into the side of the cube on Diana's hand, hopefully removing it. Clearly, someone fired it.

the blob thing absorbs the energy and turns it into heat energy which it uses to burn her hand. Good job, jackass.
Since no one else is really attacking them (THANK NUCK)...
The flow of cubes stops from the pyramid and they stop dissolving into shadow when killed, instead becoming an obsidian-like substance. They also increase the efficiency of their attacks, killing people quicker and quicker, and they begin to assemble into what look like ebony/obsidian/whatever humanoid golems with swords for forelimbs when killed.
((Is it just me or is this combat sequence oddly sane for a game like this?))
