Duke Doge: Used to be a Ventinari-type political figure. He was the guy who essentially ran the city behind a succession of many puppet leaders. When the magic wars broke out he got mostly intact, but was hit by a polymorphing curse that turned him into a Shiba Inu and gave him his speech patterns. Undeterred by this, he's actually strengthened his hold on the city. Those in the know know that regardless of who's in the elected office, you listen to the dog(e).
