"Interestingly enough, a near perfect spell casting is more dangerous than a complete failure. The former tends to have...rather...explosive results."

"Why? Does it become too powerful to be properly controlled?"

"Something like that yes. The energies of a near perfect spell are more likely to react...violently."

[Empiricist]

"That' quite similar to how Recurrent magic in my world works, amplifying spells and whatnot, actually, some weapons are based around enhancing spells until they go out of control..."

[Vgray]

"Does Recurrent magic backfire and fry the user?"

[Empiricist]

"No, but the main weapon associated with them, amp riles, do that to other people. It fires a pulse of magic that isn't intense enough to do anything, but it quickly builds up in spells being casted or the magic that remains shortly after casting and overload it so that it explodes at the user."

[Vgray]

"That sounds unpleasant..."

[Empiricist]

"Yeah, that's why the military uses them quite a bit, plus they go through walls since the actual pulses are too weak to interact with the physical world, so usually, the soldiers who use them have an echosight spell so tat they can see what they can overload."

[Vgray]

"Your world seems to have things not even my people have ever thought up."

"*shrug* As do yours."
