"Very well, we classify our magic as tangible, ethereal, theurgical or recurrent. Well, there's always basic magic such as igniting objects and whatnot but that is rather limited compared to the rest, it's mainly just of utility use.
For us, magic works by distorting reality, it acts similar to ripples in water, of course, if you flash freeze water, the waves are preserved, that's what alchemists like myself specialize in and that is the foundation for Tangible magic. It's for applications linked to parts of the physical world, hence the name.
Ethereal... well, that's a bit iffy, it has to do with manipulating souls and the Border between life and death, it tends to be explosive in some way since the basics involve binding souls until they violently 'snap-back' to the other side.
Theurgical is of course calling upon the power of one of the three deities, though strangely even though it's pretty even amongst the deities, only one of them is actually worshiped.
Finally, there's Recurrent, remember how I said that magic acts like ripples? Not all of it is intense enough to have an effect, whenever you cast a spell, some of it is too weak to do shit, and the rest weaken after use. Well, this sort of stuff amplifies and manipulates those."
