"No, though one time when I got rather drunk with friends I ended up getting pimp slapped by what amounted to a physical manifestation of death itself. Needless to say, that was one of my friends who were in the military, the government isn't exactly going to let every two-bit gang-banger learn the complex intricacies of ethereal magic..."

"Are there Gnomes where you come from? Or Dwarves?"

"No, yes, and yes. Dwarves are a pretty large group where I'm from. All sorts of forts and stone roads and walls all throughout the mountains. I hear many of the sections of their walls have cannons mounted on top. Gnomes? Um... They don't do that much. Just live in the hills and such, small little grove settlements, and stuff."

Florencio checks his fabricator's ofuda creation function. Hmm... it works fine though the poor Server connection will limit the effectiveness of the spells. Then again, he didn't know any military spells himself, so his rather limited Server access was all he had to supply him with them. He uses it to generate five misericorde ofuda units. He activates one and a small sigil erupts out of it. As the paper-like object faded, a brilliantly white blade of magic manifested before flickering and attenuating away. "Damn it..."

Tasrak flips through a spellbook and recites a spell.

Nothing happens.

"Interesting. It would appear this place has no ley lines."

"Hmm... Jason's magic worked... perhaps magic that is not solely user-dependent is disrupted by something? I can hardly access the Server from here after all..."
