It releases the leg and moves to his fingers, moving to bite down on them.
Jason notices that the wolf is limping slightly on it's left hind leg.

((He has lashed this thing like 5 times with cords and knives specifically for dealing with shadow-like creatures. And it's only limping.. seems legit.))
Jason rolls over, moving away from the wolf. He lashes again with his right cords. Half of them wrapping around the main body of the wolf. He proceeds to move the other half to continue whipping it.

((Wait, 5 times? Wasn't counting there, whoops. Though a fact of their making'll help you out there.
Plus they aren't exactly shadow like things. I'm just not good at describing things that are defined by your inability to look at them.))

The cords, where they impact the wolf at it's hind section, seem to punch through it. Both it's legs are removed, and fade away as they fall to the ground. It falls to the ground and begins trying to reach him, scrabbling forward with its front legs.
The leg stumps and it's back end seem to be glowing slightly.

Jason flings the wolf at a tree, then proceeds to whip it several times.

[Xantalos]

With each whip, it's skin begins to crack, exposing glowing yellow light.
It looks like one more blow will out it.

Jason throws one last whip round at it. Once the wolf dies, the knives retract back to his hands and he stands up.

[Xantalos]

It splits open and spills a viscous yellow fluid where it died. It's apparently the stuff that was doing the glowing. At the sight of it, the other shapes immediately rush in and begin ... sucking it up with what looks like tongues.
The jackass GM gives Jason the sense that they'll attack him after they're finished eating the stuff.
Catherine and the others arrive in Jason's general location, the griffon fading away under the influence of the magic dampening field.

[OREOSOME]

Catherine looks around, and attempts to transform.
Lucas takes a knee, and aims at one of the shadows.

Jason readies his knives, not really noticing Catherine and the others.

[Xantalos]

Catherine transforms, though her combat form is somewhat weaker than normal.

They're still drinking. The puddle looks about 2/3 gone.

Jason lashes out his knives, hitting all of them with a separate cord and knife.

[OREOSOME]

Lucas focuses in, and immediately fires at the shadow.

Meanwhile, Catherine gives a grin, and raises up a tendril of water from the puddle left by her whole transformation sequence.

[Xantalos]

They don't seem to notice, focusing on drinking the fluid. Finishing, they raise their heads in unison and a snarling sound begins to come out of them.
They stalk towards the group.

Jason continues lashing with every knife and cord.

[Xantalos]

Since there's four of them, and Jason's already killed one of them, two of them streak for him while one each leap for Catherine and ... Lucas.
