The gardener's hand rests on his pouch of seeds, planting his sheathed katana in the ground.

"Well, according to him and the exalt, that gem will cause scarring and generally terrible things upon someone evil who touches it. When he grabbed it the thing set his entire hands on fire. White fire no less, a fairly rare color I'd expect." he says, leaning back on the wall while continuing "But I'd rather not follow through a portal. While I approve of finishing what you've started, I am neither a crusader nor someone ignorant to what happens when you walk through unknown portals. You tend to either wind up in a strange place or dead doing that."

 A bird sitting in the corner caws, then coughs and says, Sorry, haven't talked in a while. You let him go! That'll start off an interesting story.

Vix looks over at the bird, more surprised its underground than it is talking.
"Well, technically he fell into a hole in the universe, he's not guaranteed to still be alive unless this world has much more forgiving portals. But why did you hate him so, bird?"

Oh, you can rest assured that you're fated to oppose him. This was just the start.

Trickster, rebooter of this universe, glad to meet you. I'm here to tell a story of your conflict.

"He has done things to me in the past. I've forgiven him on a revenge-level, but this is just outright crazy, honestly. I'd prefer to not let him be powerful."

Vix nods to the bird.
"I'm fairly sure you're the kind of being I'm supposed to use my entire list of titles for. But you probably have much more interesting things to do than that if your name is Trickster, and I want to hear this story. Would I be wrong to assume you already know the name of everyone in here currently?"
