The Sky Isles [Chapter One: Rising]
« on: August 20, 2013, 06:36:10 am »

Atop the Sky Isle Belthazeir, you make your home and living as an adventurer, offering your skills in exchange for gold, goods, and other forms of payment. You roam the wildlands and the veritable maze of a cavern system far beneath the surface. You have since arrived in a small town, in which you've heard reports of trouble.

(is guild of adventurers still running?)

Name: Natasha
Gender: Female
Class: Water-Dancer/Blade master/Dervish/Blade Dancer (pick the name you prefer) (Fights With paired blades, always one long and one short, other than weapon choice they fight more like the monk than the warrior)
Location: Lokheim (She wants to help out the guards)
Appearance: Tall and relatively slim, Natasha wears loose, comfortable clothing with few adornments, the most prominent one being a small pendant made of silver that has sentimental value for her, Her hair is a Blue tinted Black and she keeps it neck length at the longest
Background: She grew up in a moderately wealthy family, which as far as she knows is still allive; she lost contact with them however when she noticed a man fighting off some ruffians, his style was eccentric and she knew she had to learn it. By persistence she managed to get him to agree to train her. She had been traveling with him for many years, when he tells her that the rest she must learn on her own, but he gives he a small pendant inscribed with a rapier before leaving her to her own devices.

You really can both sig it.
But... That would break the laws of sigging! We can't have everyone running around with the same quotes. IT MAKES THEM UNFUNNY FASTER!

Yep. Every so often, I decide to start doing some world building, and sometimes I decide to make a game based around it. This is one of those times.

Name: Kathryn
Gender: Female
Class: Cavalier (Somewhat like a Beastlord, but specialized to ride on, train and fight alongside Yrios, a horse sized avian species related to Beriaks. They lack the general ability to train any animal, but are specialized in those capable of aerial combat. They are the elite airborne Cavalry of Belthazeir, and are skilled at fighting with spears.)
Location: Lokheim
Appearance: A tall and heavily muscled woman with long legs, and flaming red hair in a short style-tough, tanned skin from hours of flight practice. Clear blues eyes are usually hidden flight goggles. She tends to wear light, flamboyantly colorful leather armor decorated with feathers. Her Yrio mount 'Solaris', is entirely bright red feathered, decked in light, ornate bronze panoply.
Background: Kathryn is actually currently lost. She is a young Cavalier in the service of a Lord who lives far from Belthazeir-sent on a trade expedition along with others of her order. They were scattered by a sky-pirate attack, and she's no idea how to go about getting home-having never traveled outside her homelands. She's currently bartering her skills in the adventurer trade, hoping to earn enough money to survive and keep Solaris fed-and maybe find the remnants of her squad.

Name: Gand Blackblood

Gender:Male

Class: Venom Knight - a class dedicated to poisoning enemies, and defending itself with an rock-hard defence until the enemy dies from the fast-acting venoms. They use poisoned throwing weapons and large shields and stabbing swords to hold enemies at bay.

Location: Lokheim

Appearance: Short and lithe, Gand has a sickly pallor and feverish green eyes. His body is mostly covered with a ragged, dark green cloak. Underneath are bandoleers of poison vials and throwing knives over a rusty curiass. A round shield is slung over his back on top of a backpack. A jagged shortsword is sheathed along the small of his back.

Background: Gand has been many things over his life but never accepted by people for his appearance and his trade. as a result, he became a bandit and sky pirate, robbign traders and wealthy looking travelers. When his particular band of ne'er-do-wells was hunted down just a few weeks ago, Gand was the only one to escape. Deciding to live a more honest life for now, he became an adventurer and travelled across the land, eventually arriving in Lokheim. What is he looking for? Not even Gand particularly knows. Wealth, maybe, or possibly just a place to belong - previously only found with the other undesirables of society.

You are Kathryn, a cavalier separated from her squad and hometown, and have recently arrived at Lokheim. You stable Solaris at a small building near the outskirts of the town, and proceed inwards. After wandering for a bit, you see two taverns, likely the best place to find those in need of your aid. One, named the Beggar's Blade, is obviously a meeting place for the less than law-abiding citizens. The other is called the Sinful Angel's Mug, which seems to be a standard tavern that caters to adventurers: Loud, filthy, and filled with people far drunker than you previously thought possible.

Name:Theron
Gender:Male
Class:Assassin: Firm believers in the concept that any fight is a chance to lose, assassins strike quickly and with pinpoint accuracy to eliminate any foes they encounter.  They are competent with bot a bow and knives, but excel at neither, instead focusing on bypassing mechanical devices such as locks and traps, and sneaking around undetected.  The result of such a specialized skillset is the ability to strike when and where the target least expects.
Location: Kiron
Appearance:  Raven-haired with a scar just above my left eyebrow.  Slight in stature, but with strong legs from years of running.  I am currently wearing the uniform of the household of a wealthy merchant from my homeland, but while the clothes were finely made, the long trip to Kiron has left them in rather poor shape.
Background: Shortly after my fifth birthday, my parents fell to a plague and was forced onto the streets to survive.  A year and a half later and I had attracted the notice of the Malok, an infamous guild of assassins, and had begun to train in their ways.  After completing my training, I became known among my peers for my efficiency, ruthlessness, and arrogance.  Alas, fate interrupted my rise among the Malok.  After botching an important assassination, I was forced to flee for my life, barely escaping by stowing away on a Floatstone balloon.  I emerged silently after we landed and found myself in the crumbling city of Kiron.

Thank you, but this isn't a multiplayer game.
