So I just made a fun discovery. Apparently if you feel like micro-managing farms, you can get more than 1 crop in there per season. ATM I'm using Masterworks, so it's a year to grow stuff underground, and once I get some damn stone from the caravan (if it EVER shows up) I can stop living like the damn hippies and live underground like proper dwarves.

And use only one plot to plant my entire stock of plants. I've been micromanaging my surface plots for maximum efficiency (with Masterworks More Plants option on I've got too many seed types to keep track of--but I'm trying) while my craftsdwarves whittle bone and wood and brew and fill hives and collect berries and trees and shear badgerdogs and--

But yeah.

multiple crops per plot.

probably not news to most people, but I thought that was pretty damn cool.

Took me moment to get that joke,  Lol . On the actual topic, that could be good to know since I'm trying to get into the basics of farming (since my fisherdwarves are way to good at their jobs, and I've read that fish can eventually run out, so I'd rather not try to feed a whole fort with it. Though I will miss the copious amount of bone carvings.). Though I did find the topic name somewhat misleading, considering it neither mentions plants/farming nor does the topic have anything much to do with Cacme Awemedinade, as awesome as he was.

Hmm. Well, Cacame does watch over us all, from atop his dragon in the sky. With a crossbow in one hand, an anachronistic and oversized machine gun in the other, and an artifact candy sword at his belt. Gazing into his eyes reveals images of flames and destruction. Truly, he is Armok's chosen, and in his name are elves slaughtered and plants torn from the ground from spite as much as hunger. Remember: when dealing with plants, one must be fierce with them. (See? Topical! Okay, it *is* a stretch, but still.)
