It had been a long few weeks since deposing his distant relation, and taking up the Throne of Heltania. And already there was much that needed his attention. Lukas sighed as he read what little available information on the Dwarven Confederacy could be gathered on short notice. What he read, he did not like.

Sending out orders to have the Dwarven Trade-General escorted to the palace of Heltania, Lukas waited patiently for the arrival gathering up his wits and his charm in order to prevent Dwarven influence, and dwarven anger in equal parts.

"Ah, you honor my humble city-state with your presence, Trade-General Grinhafen. Truly there can be no greater honor than to host a dwarf of such caliber. You flatter me with your generous offer.

But alas, I must be the bearer of perhaps the worst news. Heltania is not a sound commercial investment at this time. Surely you have heard of our recent bandit troubles. And my scouts inform me that the Horse Tribes are mustering, perhaps to raid my land whilst we transition leadership. This cannot be the finest time to invest in my nation. I would like you to see that Heltanian soldiers can safeguard the commercial interests of the Dwarves prior to any agreement being signed.

In the meantime your people are more than welcome in my lands, and I would welcome you to join me for a fine banquet."
Lukas smiled and acted polite but behind his smile his mind was whirring. Was it too much? Too little? Too promising? So many questions. That dwarf would open ports with axes and blood, was that his full objective.

Sooth and flatter the Dwarven trade-general. Agree to nothing. Insinuate that the time is not right for any deals between the Blackwater Coast and the Dwarven Confederacy, but that such a thing will be revisited as soon as the lands become safer.

In addition, immediately begin the training of the Talrius City Guard. Militia-> Basic.

Alexis
You swallow hard, you never thought you had to do something like this. But here we are. Taking a deep breath you gulp down the brew. It tastes bitter...of poison.

You stand up and trot towards the marketplace. You easily find Corrinas House. It is quite large...seems like a midwife is earning her pay easily here. You knock a few times on the door and then a sudden nausea overcomes you. Concentrating all your remaining willpower you keep yourself from heaving up. But as the door opens up with you leaning agains tit everything goes black...

When you awake you find yourself in a clean and warm bed.

Agnad rose from the table strewn with reports of the losses suffered by the Nallbrine Trading Company and strode to the door.
Where are you going Cous?
To get some mercs.

Agnad approached the main Windborn camp.
Oi, where's your leader?

One last action before I go.

Have Agnad dragged off and beaten senseless then left where he falls.

(( Seriously bad idea to talk that way lol. ))

Gregory and his band of men trudge back into the city.
"Alright men, that was a good run. I will check with the Emperor about further payment. He grins "Until our next mission stay out of trouble. And I always want you guys to have at least one of our band watching your back." After the parting good byes. He heads to the palace. Seeing it full with the envoy, he puts in a request for the Emperor's presence whenever he is available.
As he waders around the area, he sees some of the troops training, and decides to help them.

Help train the troops until the Emperor is ready for a meeting.

((1. Won't really work; this guy's dealt with mutiny and life at sea for years and is still fighting fit. A bunch of jumped up tribesmen won't do jack shit.

(( Accepted, still happening though. Should have been more polite. They have terrible morale at the moment, so they ain't in a forgiving mood. I'm almost tempted to keep playing just to see what the result is but Ghaz wouldn't let me. ))

((Eh, you do realise that they've attacked a bloke who is working for/with the ruler of the city whose land they live on, right? Wouldn't be surprised if their horses get taken and any resisters get killed.))

((I was being polite and coming to talk to the leader in person instead of just anonymously demanding that you guard my caravans. Well to shit with that, I'm gonna make the lives of the Windborn hell now.))

((Bah, they'll live, but just as scattered fragments of a people, treated as second class citizens by everyone. In the end I'll hire them, but for a pittance.))
