Gregory nods, "Very well, thank you sir, I will gather supplies for the march." Gregory bows as he leaves.
Gregory gathers his men and supplies, and begin by patrolling the southern border, keep the men on high alert and check for anyone who maybe following.
Gregory gathers his supplies, and speaks to his men.
""Men, for this mission we need to have the utmost amount of awareness, we will be patrolling and scouting along the borders, so keep you wits about you."

A courtier approaches the Duke of  Trinicria reluctantly, interrupting his dealings with the dwarven representative.

"Pardon, Your Grace, but Master Giacomo, your father's favored representative amidst the city's merchant class, wishes for an audience with you over pressing matters of state" he says, glancing nervously towards the dwarf before bowing, in wait of your reply.

Frederic listens to the servant before turning to the dwarves.

"If you can pardon me gentlemen, this shouldn't take long."

Usher Master Giacomo to a private room for a meeting.

Giacomo, a giant of a man, approaches, bowing before you once he is close enough "Your Grace"

He awaits for your acknowledgement before continuing "Excuse me for having called you here in such a hurry, but as the topic is the very same you were contending with just now, you can see why I didn't have much of a choice. Do not let the promises of prosperity from the dwarves trick you, it is true they are wealthy beyond belief, but that is the same reason we cannot afford to open a route to their mountain homes!"

"I am well aware of which this may come off as the protection of local interests, and while that is, indeed, true, I assure you that our interests rest in the very same place. Once trade is opened with the dwarves, they  shall slowly, but surely, flood our market with their goods, ruining the local industry. Soon enough, Trinicria will be spending to the last of its silver in dwarven wares while serving them as little more than a resource colony"

"Your more ambitious advisors might suggest, however falsely, that you shall retain the power to close the route as needed, but those are only lies made to please you, Your Grace, for, no offense intended to your army and our brave men, the dwarves are all too capable of beating us to the ground and exacting their price by force, should the idea be allowed to grow in their minds. I've seem them, strange canes from whence they summon fire! No army in our days can compete with those hellish creations of theirs!"

"I urge you to protect our trade, so that we may prosper, so that Trinicria may prosper; surely, Kol'Thelos or Heltania, in spite of the wayward ambitions, would make for much safer trade partners?"

Frederic acknowledged the man with a gesture of his hand before listening to him .He was silent for a moment before replying.

"You make a compelling argument, Master Giacomo. I must admit, I am young and still in need of advice on matters of coin. I must say that your words have merit and I shall heed them."

The young monarch tapped his finger on his chin for a moment, still considering something before carrying on.

"Master Giacomo, I wish to carry out trade but I am in need of a man to do it for me. I want to use your talents, if you will. Trinicria needs trade, just as fish needs water and people need air. I am willing to grant you a charter to open a trade company and a grant of 3 ductats to open warehouses and build infrastructure you need. "

Trade agreement with dwarves is not ratified - awaiting further reconsideration.

"As you wish, Your Grace... Your father was mysteriously set on avoiding trade with our neighbors, for reasons that escape me, but I, for one, commend your initiative; Blackater coast has always thrived on trade, and it is only through trade that it may ever truly return to the wealth of yore. I shall see to it that a textile manufactory be opened in the city, and carvans assembled so that we may initiate trade within the season. Is there a particular destination of your preference for the newly created goods?"

"Take them where they will find willing customers, and do not hesitate to reach out to distant places. Kol'thelos is a friendly place, so take your ware there first, and make sure to establish presence there.  A country like this cannot afford a diplomatic corps that can travel, so my merchants must also be my emissaries. Do not worry, I am not expecting any special duty from you, merely flow of information on places you will visit. I am eager to hear of them."

[2] The Dwarf Captain, currently residing in one of your guest quarters is less than pleased when he hears about your going back on the Trade Agreement. He storms into the Throne Room, blustering his face red, screaming in dwarvish. He takes a deep breath and continues in Traders Tongue.

"THIS IS AN OUTRAGE! ONE DOES NOT SIMPLY FORGO A TREATY ONCE IT IS AGREED UPON! You will regret this, Manling! Honorless scum, one does not simply cancel a treaty once it is struck! We dwarves have a long memory and if you will not live to regret this your Progeny will!"

he spits out, then storms out of the room nearly running over one of the guards which quickly jumps out of the way.

...maybe agreeing to a Trade Compact with the Dwarves and then forgoing it in the last second wasn't such a good idea...

Trinicria has caused a Diplomatic Incident with the West Peak Confederacy. While this will not lead to war it is certainly souring relations, especially with people of such short temper.

((dont worry it has not been forgotten, sometimes you have to be a bit patient. and please use the OOC thread for such things))

[5] Luckily Alexis finds a nearby Home for Widows. One she stumbles past it a flock of babbling women fall upon her drag her inside and clean her up. [6] Even better she gets clean clothes, a bath and something to make the stomach pains and headaches go away. The bad news is that the remedy to your stomach pains was an ancient recipe to cure morning sickness of pregnant women...maybe you should go and see a midwife. That is if the gaggle of widows let you leave, since they want you to rest, recuperate and then live here...

Continue scouting along the border, tracking and killing bandits and attempting to sabotage the alliance.

Send scouts in all directions to locate survivors of my own or any other clan and guide them to us at the capital.

Also get the breeding project going and get the oldest of the children formed into a new company.

Alexis took a look at her stomach. "Did it really have to be this?"

Sensing the issue, Alexis sneaks out of the widow-house and looks for a good mid-wife around the city.
