Some units have 6 MOV, some 4 MOV, while all of them should have 5 MOV.
Maible somehow has WTA disadvantage against fellow mages.
Sakura has no WTA advantage versus anima mages. Similarily, Fezz suffers no WTA disadvantage versus anima mages.
Maible cannot wear Fire tome for some reason.

Also is there an actual difference in difficulty settings? I always play 'More Harder' and I wonder if the other one is easier.

It's not impossible to save Grifen and Fezz. You have to abuse FE movement rules. Same for the secret map.


I forgot about vulns. Erryone should have them. You can get vulns in the shop, but it is certainly possible to survive without them. Hover over EVERY SINGLE ENEMY's move routes before you move your characters. If you don't do this you won't survive, even with vulns. Calculate MT+STR-DEF just like you would in FEF2. Admittedly, crits are annoying, so save often.

I'll look into the weapon rank fix. I'm kind of surprised you were able to get it that high though.

Actually, it's not true that all units should have 5 MOV. In Sara's sheet, she originally had 4 MOV, while in Candy's, he started with 6. For most units I have tried to reproduce their original character sheet as closely as possible. So the MOVs should vary.

I have no idea why the WTA advantage thing is happening. Will fix. If you're having trouble with the first mage that attacks you on Chapter 1, make sure it can only hit Maible, as I'm pretty sure she can survive it. That's what I did.

Maible is Thunder Mage, not Mage. For some reason, they didn't have just a normal Mage, so I'll have to add that later.

There SHOULD be a difference in difficulty, but I've done some more playtesting, and it's not showing up. Which means that you can get to the Secret Path on both difficulties.

Saving Fezz and/or Grifen cannot be done, especially that enemy thunder mages somehow have 6 MOV as well? Which enables the mages to cheat and snipe Grifen through hills even if Fezz is blocking.

Considering the deck chokepoint (prologue) and bridge chokepoint (chapter 1) requiring constant healing from Leo, I'm surprised no one else have mentioned the bug earlier.

OK, so I give everyone the equivalent of 5 level ups, including enemies, and change MOVs to non-Trainee classes? That can be done. Remember early chapters were balanced for trainees, why is why, even though the trainee classes aren't in, I've kept their stats.

Since you don't believe me about Grifezz:



I saved them three times while playtesting under the same conditions you have. It can be done.

Yeah those are bugs in the underlying engine. CON doesn't raise on level up -- it just says it does when a different stat (maybe RES?) does.

I'm slowly fixing the bugs in this engine, but it's a looooooooooooooong list. Keep the reports coming.

Also also, for those who don't already know- Sheila can talk to Candy, but she cannot recruit him, in defiance of canon. I almost got Leo killed finding that out.

Before he leveled up his staff rank and crashed the game, of course.

Leo also singlehandedly saved the whole merc troop on the prologue map. That's why he leveled up his staff rank on the second map and crashed the game

OK, crash bug and WTA have been fixed. Now onto the others before I reupload.

Also, Haspen is at least partially right that some characters have 6 MOV when they should have 4 MOV even with their original stats. I have absolutely no idea why this is going on, but it must be deep with moverange.dll 'cause they're coded for 4.

edit: no wait fixed that too

The fix is in!

Quite a few things were modified.

*Everyone who had 4 MOV has been adjusted to 5 MOV. Unfortunately, this goes for enemies as well. I am still considering whether or not to give PCs their First Class stats.
*Everyone now starts with a Vulnerary.
*The WTA bug has been tentatively fixed. It is now Ice->Thunder->Fire->Ice (I think), and Anima->Light->Dark->Anima. If you notice something off here, let me know.
*Maible gets the new Mage class. She can cast spells from all Anima subcategories. This means Fire is now available to the player.
**Maible casting Dark Magic is a known bug and it is very funny.
*The weapon-level crash has been fixed.
*Fezz and Grifen now appear on turn 4 instead of Turn 3. This gives the player more time to reach them.
*More Harder has been fixed. Due to the mechanical changes, you can no longer access Dea Historia and the Secret Path on More Harder.

Thanks to wifi mooching I could play fef2xp today!

Here's what I found:

-Controls are pretty atrocious, even with the key config pic cause it doesn't show all the keys :v
-There's a crash happening with Take command but I think that was reported already.
-Sakura sometimes has 4 MOV and sometimes 5. I have no idea why :v
-Can't select the dark and staff proficiencies with the help cursor. Also why is there water, dagger and gun proficiencies?
-Leif just stands there and it's too easy to just snipe him with Efa.
-I left the title screen running after beating it and the general classes descriptions start appearing (words words words fighter uses anima, myrmidon uses lances and axes) and then this showed:


And the title music does a strange loop.

Yes, it's been fixed for the next version.
Does Sakura's MOV change with the map, or all during one map? We have determined why this is happening on IRC.
I don't know why that happens either. There's water, dagger, and gun proficiencies because I don't know. There aren't even any water spells in by default. There is, however, code for a gunner class. That could be interesting.
Leif should probably attack within range.
Uwot. OK, the default title screen demo has gotta go. I've had too many errors from that already.

Wait, you actually beat the game??? Gratz!
