I'll canto block that door down there if I can. We have a good amount of ranged options so we can do more damage with a chokehold, while the rest of the team goes onward north.

That's the point. Take the hits, get taken down, and block the door while more capable allies respond from a distance.

No, no, he was more meaning that directly taking the door way is actually a bad position in a choke hold. You want your enemy taking it, because it has few lines of egress and lots of lines of assault.

Yes, but in this case; they potentially take out our mage and pierce our lines. Not that we wouldn't slaughter them anyways, but may as well not let them at our units and limit the amount of damage they do.

True and fair enough. The smaller force tends to hold the actual doorway to avoid them from breaching, but it makes them more vulnerable. In our case it would be because of weaker allies. Shame we don't have a knight, I've always wanted to see Hold the Line play with a choke hold like this.
