Who wants to live forever?Shibuya, 2015. Six high school students work in the school's newsletter department. They get an anonymous tip about something way, way bigger than high school hijinks: an illegal dogfighting arena under Hatagaya Station. This could be it! The story that propels them to newswriter success!
The students ditch their parents and set out at night. They make the long trek to Old Hatagaya Station from below a manhole in the city. They arrive, pay the entrance fee to a funny-looking bouncer, and find this is no ordinary dogfighting ring. Two men enter the ring, slide their hands across half-moon shaped devices, and summon large, terrible creatures into being. An angel and living slime fight tooth and nail, but the foul slime kills the angelic creature and devours her. Then, to the students' horror, it goes after the angel's summoner...
Now six ordinary high school students, aware of the secret, find themselves caught up in a wretched, high-stakes tournament for the ultimate prize: immortality. Will they compete in the tournament, or will they try to stop it? As the battles progress, strange rifts appear throughout Tokyo, and the host's sinister motivations become clear.
Differences from FEF- Each player controls one human character and one demon in battle. Human characters are weak and cannot cast magic, but they can use items, weapons, and speak with enemy demons. To compensate, the player limit is set at six.
- Demon summoners have a Demon Caller device that lets them store up to three demons and call or recall them during battle.
- Conversion of SMT's spellcasting to fit the FEF MP-less system. High-MP spells (like Reraise and multi-target damage) now take multiple turns to cast. Spells have no quality and do not degrade.
- Conversion of SMT's demon fusion mechanics to fit the FEF support system. Two players with Support Ranks will get better demon fusion results when they both pitch in.
