Ah, my apologies.  That occurred to me right after I made that post, and I edited the post slightly to add something that might help with that a bit.

Perhaps you should call your games something else then, or be more upfront about how you plan to throw the party into no-win scenarios. Fire Emblem is intrinsically linked to casualty-free runs.

That's why I said I will run Village Emblem to do insane stuff like that. You will have an army* of low-lever chars to command, it will be easy to leave some behind v:
*Currently 20 or so villagers, and I didn't even plan further chapters

But knowing you people yer gonna somehow get casualties close to 0 anyways. I just feel it!

Well.

I plan on running an internally consistent (thus harder) FE, but even I expect a no-casualty run to be possible with proper planning and an ever present dose of luck (though I've no call over that, and won't plan around such).

If nothing else, a reread through the dream mission would be a good idea before starting a new game. I wanted to find the upper limit on acceptable bullshit, and I found it. The players are actually going to win.

Music to my ears.

Or art to my eyes, since this is a text based medium.

I want to GM Fire Emblem to all players more or less interested, less or more experienced, not a group of eight or so nerds drooling over it all the time.
No offense, but it irks me greatly how some guys tend jump into recruitment and all slots get taken within hours.
I can easily point with my finger at some people who jumped into three, three different Fire Emblems here and would prolly jump into another if only someone went and hosted one.
I'm not better, but I know =P

How cute. Haspen is trying to shame me. The FEF games are the only ones I'm playing in the FG&RP and the RTD sections, and they're pretty much the only forum games on B12 I'm interested in, so I don't see it as a big deal. Until recently there weren't even any people interested in FEF besides this crew, and without us joining multiple games and basically keeping FEF alive I doubt there ever would have been new people who were like 'these games seem to be popular, maybe I should look into joining one'.

Yeah, that I think is true. FEF's aren't really hugely popular, though they've cetainly gotten slightly more so due to Haspen's NEF's. That being said, I'm incredibly guilty of not only joining FEF's, but games in general, though I think I've shaken off the habit ever so slightly.

I've only been in three FE games: FE 1, FE 2, and NoH.  Of these, I joined the first on the last third/fourth of it and can probably count the chapters I've been in on a hand, one of which I was there for less than half.

I'm kinda surprised I'm considered a veteran.

If you have to start a post with a platitude like how cute, it's probably better not to say anything. Constructive mindsets have no concept of shame, only guilt.

Is there anything else anyone wanted to do before I run the turn tonight?

I did really hope that in FEF2 I would get more newcomers and less FEF1 cast :P

And I kinda really started to prefer NEF schematic (short story for newbies) than full-fledged FEFs, really. Not to mention there's a bunch of others who seem to be good at being GMs :P

Oh well, I'm happy with I have, in the end.

I think there's just Sakura who needs to do something, if I recall right. Someone should probably move for her. Efa hasn't done anything, but she can't reach anyone due to being kinda stuck.

You've been around more than I have: FEF1, FEF2, and Seventh Platoon.  Of these, I've been around for less than half of FEF1 (Chapter 3, then 8 through present), and Seventh Platoon didn't make it past the first chapter.  ^_^
