I can only remember that swords beat axes sometimes because you always start with a sword, and axes always suck.

Axes are lousy in the early game, because they're so inconsistent with Damage output.

But once the middlegame hits, they get crazy.

Announcement!

Trading is no longer a free action. You cannot trade after using an item or attacking; these end your turn (If you're mounted, you can move provided you have any MOV left).

Additionally, you can no longer switch Equipped weapons after attacking/using item.

This change takes effect immediatelly and affects FEF2 (when it continues), as well as NEF2, NEF2-2 and all future games I might host.

This change does not affect FEF1, nor DreamMission (unless FFS decides otherwise).

Your honor I object. While the current trade system is broken, this steps too far in the other direction. Trading should be allowed to initiate once per turn, and after movement, like in the games.

What am I supposed to do, let you do trade and then continue all kinds of item shenanigans? No.

If you want more I can start making enemies use trading for their heart's content, swapping killer weapons from elite soldiers and back.

That'd require you to update the enemy stats more. So I doubt you'd follow through on that.

But ideally, actions like item use and attacking end the turn and trading can't take place afterwards, even for mounted units who just get to move. Trade would be a semi action so players and npcs can't grab a weapon from their buddy and then run off to battle.

This way, trading stays useful without allowing the players to peasant railgun a magic ring from the back of the party to the front line without wasting everyone's actions.
