((As for the Bow Troubadour, it would have been crossbow w/ high magic growth; even better since she can still do Tri Attack when she promotes(though Valkyries are weird promoting from Troubadours))

So yeah, seems like Cabel's returning, or maybe a Soldier or tanky Bandit/Fighter?

I'd prefer a Bandit to a Fighter if it's meant to be tanky, I think, since Fighters seem more sneaky than tanky...

If I went with a Knight though, I'm guessing General, not Great Knight?

Honest opinion: Unless you want the promotes or the skills the knight branch has, I honestly suggest a soldier. They can make better knights due to lack of armored vulnerability, same stat cap, higher MOV, and even the ability to raise DEF in those around them. You would be a knight in all but name.

Also, the bow-trab is almost Griffen word for word, funny enough. Crossbow nomad who is gonna be a nomad medic.

That bow Troubadour sounds exactly like Grifen. Eerily so.

If you go Bandit, we're gonna wind up with two 'zerkers, what with Mountain Warrior being so useless and all.

I'd push for General, personally, just to keep things diverse. Don't think anyone is shooting for sentinel, but we've got a fair few lance swingers already.

Knights either need armored back, or extra Defense and HP for base stats/promotion bonuses. With corresponding increases to stat caps, naturally. As it is, they get the shaft.

Also, in the interest of higher mobility, it may be an interesting avenue to try going Great Knight. Haven't seen one of those yet.

@BMM: One of the main reasons I was suggesting differing stat caps. I could make a better knight out of a merc than a knight itself. The only reason to be a knight is for their skills, otherwise why bother? Their skills are nice though.

I planned on having Knights have armored being the tenth place of their health in value of damage absorption, or instead added as bonus DEF that isn't counted by the cap. Leaning on the former so far, but the latter is easier to do.

Hmm. Alright. So Fighter going into Forest Knight, or Soldier going into General(?).

I do like the Great Knight, but you're probably right...bah.

Well, I can't decide, really, between Soldier and Fighter then, I guess. I dunno. I agonize about every little thing...

EDIT: Knight's skills are nice, but if I went Knight I guess it wouldn't be the greatest Tank. And I'm guessing we don't need two Berserkers.

Huh, seems a soldier can actually be a general and get their nice shield skill. Dang, guess a great knight or hold the line actually is the only reasons to be a knight.

You wouldn't even be armored to boot. Soldier General is best general I guess.

Seeing Sheila's PS, I'm tempted to make a misogynist Fighter.

The difficulty with that, of course, is the buttons it will push and just how damned careful I would have to be playing him.

EDIT: Really, the issue is that I don't know what our Lord will promote to.

If you play a mysogynist, be ready for him to grow as a person and leave that behind eventually.
Or be ready to be lynched by the amazon brigade, either way :p

As for our friendly neighborhood noble, my gut says Sentinel.
@Xan: pretty sure a soldier promoted general would still be armored. Like how once Sheila promotes she'll be able to use a One Arm.

Naw, Soldier-Generals aren't armored, but yeah, he would eventually figure out that his dad was a shithead.

Or whatever the reason will be for why he's a terrible person.

But in that case, I might go Soldier->General for wonderful Skill skillz.

You only get to use one-arm if you promoted into bandit and then from there went into berserker BMM, the promotion bit on those weapons are just there so that you can still use them once you do promote from the specified first class.

Except Generals can't use Reignleif, but I would have to think they can use Soliferrum.

If you promote from soldier, you can. You won't be able to use the knight's special weapon, nor will you get the knight class skill.
