I'll even throw in a level rolling feature. Click on the character(s) and press the button. Complete bbcode output!

>implying that wasn't in my features list.

Xan said he might take a crack at it during his break, but if you wanna do it, I'd be happy to throw my money at you.

Spoiler: Necessary feature list (click to show/hide)

Edit: Oh yeah, one of the things I considered would be that you could have Character 1 always be the attacker and Character 2 always be the defender, so you don't have to screw around with an attacker toggle function.

Okay, those are all doable, but one that seems problematic given the use of the program is

Quote
5. Keep track of whether or not personal skills/faults activate in a given conflict.

It seems like you (the user) would have to do a lot of extra bookkeeping for each created char to have this work automatically (keep track of each unit's gender, whether they are not only a specific class but also a promotion of a specific class, whether you've used all MOV in a round, whether you're within three spaces of allied units...)

Not only that, but if you have a custom PS (like Tantallos), you'd have to somehow implement the functionality as a user instead of just the data. Do you think it would be okay to just have them listed as a GM reference on each sheet? Or would you prefer them tracked via checkboxes but limited to the types of combat effects (+damage etc) in the handbook?

Actually, this applies to Class Skills too. Those tend to be very esoteric in their effects, and then with custom classes/skills...

Limit it to the effects listed in the handbook. It'd be nice if you could toss in some of the ones we already have that aren't in the handbooks though.

And certain class skills wouldn't need to be added in, of course. The nomad's mobility ability has no need to be in for instance, since it has no bearing on actual combat at all.

But a character's promotion path should be on their character sheet, so that shouldn't be a problem to track for PSs. And we can add a gender field. So, maybe those ones could be tracked by the program? My goal is to have it automate things as much as possible without a map within the program.

Hmmm. Yeah, now I think I understand what all would go into it. That's a little too big of a project for $50, all considered. Leave it to Xan and see what he comes up with

Like I said before, I'd be willing to chip in some money to see this thing done properly, and I'm guessing some other folks might be as well.

ffs, what's your estimate on what something like this might cost to develop?

It wouldn't cost any money, I'm just not sure where to even start. Tell ya what: save any compensation for when someone has something workable, period.

It'll be like a surprise.

Wait SHIT, that's supposed to be a Steel Javelin (per the Player's Handbook Gargoyles). Not sure why I took the Glaive stats. Xanmyral stares disapprovingly. Hold on, recalculating.

I was more referring to the part where we apparently only have one turn to get Sakura back up. This might be tricky.
