The new sheet looks fine. Let's roll affinity then.

Wind or Darkness?

Heh... Seems I have a split decision.

Both have their benefits, and aren't too far away from being one in the same. Wind has the potential to up my attacking abilities while Darkness helps defend against Critical hits. Both up my chances to hit, evade, and critically strike enemies. If I go Wind, Cervantes will be a happy old man wanting to have one more go at youth. If I go Darkness, this story will rapidly spiral into a rendition of the movie Gran Torino as Oldman McBroody struggles with a changing world.

However, seeing as we have only one other character with the Wind Element, I shall endeavor to fill the gap! Onward to glory!

Affinity doesn't have to affect your character's personality, y'know :P
I mean, if you want it to that's pretty neat. It's just not required.

I don't know... It makes the character feel more... Real if you will.

It's fun picking an Archetype and letting the numbers do their thing, deciding just what kind of monster gets generated. Wind just happened to fit my first idea perfectly, but if I had gotten something like Thunder instead the end result would have been entirely different. Rather than being in it for "funsies" you instead have a bit more of a tempremental pragmatic character who's still fighting because either he has to or because he doesn't consider other options beyond combat. His one track mind could have been a boon however, as he would likely have years of combat experience locked in his head.

We're now stuck with a vaguely senile old man who decided to take his favorite horse out on a ride one day and go adventuring. But those are the best kind of old men, so I am perfectly ok with this. I'll need to write a bio when I get the chance.

Plus, it's always funny to watch a crit-build one-shot the chapter boss.  ^_^

I can attest to this. It always strikes me as a perfect blend of anti-climatically climatic, which makes it hilarious and dramatically satisfying at the same time.

EDIT: Also apologies for not doing anything yesterday.

Well... If there is one thing I can guarantee. There will be crits. Heaven help the enemy who gets in the way of Miguel Cervantes armed with a Killer Lance.

Tell the truth!

The nobles are going to start a war anyway, so that's not a big worry. As for death, well, you ARE a player character :P

Fear not! You have not been forgotten! I do after all have you to thank for Cervantes, as I would be severely hard pressed to make something that good myself!

I've been playing around a little bit with the picture, and I have successfully made him wink and close his eyes! At the present time, I will begin trying to make him express more emotions than just badass. That might be a bit harder...
