I'm gonna go the 'you just haven't had good broccoli' route with you, Sirus. :P My mom makes this broccoli casserole out of melted cheese (hot pepper kind), crackers, and broccoli and it's fucking DELICIOUS. Last time she made it was a few months ago when I was over helping her move stuff.

Damn. I need to learn how to cook for real. :\

EDIT: Nice crit, Culise. ^^^

I like broccoli and kale.  Actually, our niece loves kale, spinach, and broccoli, too, and has since she was 4 or 5.  I don't really like most nuts; I'll have almonds in chocolate or honey-roasted peanuts, but I don't like cashews at all.  Pistachio or hazelnut are more flavoring for me than something to eat alone.

I'll agree with SeriousConcentrate, though; a lot of people don't like vegetables because they've never had them prepared properly.  It's really easy to boil the flavour out of broccoli if you're not careful.  And I'm no chef; I'm more like the opposite of a chef. Worst anecdote: trying to cook pasta, and only realizing at the end that I forgot the noodles.

EDIT:
OK, so now we have Julia - both with and without mask - and Casey added to the ranks.

Ooh, that's nice.  Thank you.  ^_^

Eh, I just prefer my broccoli steamed and plain. It's best that way :P

@Culise: Thanks. ^^^ I've never had kale, though. Not sure what it is. >.>

@FFS: You've had that dish before, too? It's good as hell. :3

@Tar: Broccoli's... OK by itself. Put a little salt and pepper on it and it's a lot better than just plain if you ask me. :P

Yeah, but you lose a lot of the juiciness and flavour from that. Just my personal preference though.

I make flash steamed broccoli that's amazing, but it really needs either butter or cheese for me to get excited about it, to be honest.

Spinach, on the other hand, is great, great stuff. Provided you don't overcook it, of course. I'm actually making a spinach-garlic quiche tomorrow. Actually, a couple, since I have some habaneros lying around and I don't want to waste them.

My dad's a heat head, he might appreciate it. Not sure.

Hmm, never thought about butter on broccoli. Or garlic. @_@ I love garlic, you think that would have occurred to me at some point in my life. I'm not sure what quiche is, but garlic, broccoli, and habaneros already sounds pretty good. Anyway. I have no opinion on spinach, other than that it's in the Italian Wedding Soup they have in cans and I didn't notice it, so I guess it isn't bad.

Spinach is going in the quiche (a sort of egg pie. Amazing, and good when you have spare ingredients laying around), not broccoli. Never tried that. I might now.

Spinach is quite nice when it's crunchy. When it's soggy though, it's kinda like eating a tire...

I know, I was just saying to myself that habanero, garlic, and broccoli could be good. :P But regardless, that sounds pretty good. Eggs are OK. I mean I like them occasionally but I can't eat them too often; I don't like them that much. :\

Also, spinach is supposed to be crunchy? Is it basically like lettuce then, Tar? *wonders if Hasp will change the thread title to be about food after this derail XD*

@Culise: Thanks. ^^^ I've never had kale, though. Not sure what it is. >.>

Kale is yummy and delicious, though it can develop a bit of a strong taste depending on how it's cooked, I think.  It's apparently related to broccoli and cabbage (which I just learned while looking for a picture), and looks like this.  Apparently, you can make chips out of it, but I don't know why you would want to.

I...can't imagine crunchy spinach, though.  I've had it cooked, but never soggy or crispy.  It's quite good for a quick meal with rice and either spam or crabcakes.
