I wonder how impossibly hard it would be to sprite a Fire Emblem headpiece from scratch

It's pretty hard.

Trust me- you'll REALLY WANT another mounted unit. It can become all too easy to step a little close to the enemy and then you're fucked when none of your pals can reach you.

Nice sprite for Tracey there. Probably going to be one of the people who doesn't care for Sheila by the look of things though.

When we have 16 people interested, it's gonna be hard to be the only one of a particular class =V.

But the Troubador->Mage Knight is unique of who we've got and can totally work.

Also Culise I sincerely hope we don't get snow or sand in this game. Olison is definitely not a happy camper moving only 3 spaces a turn in FEF1 right now :(. I'd kill for a set of snow-horseshoes

I've attempted this, and for me it was agonizing, I could never get it just right as it either went into their skull, made them look like they had a deformed skull, or the shading was horrific. It might be easier for you, but if you want some insight there yah go.

"Hey, hold on there.  Just 'cuz we'll be workin' together, don't mean we gotta be friends."
"Well, maybe running a drill or two.  M'horse Creidhne could use the exercise."

Heh, pretty much.  Mine is just a rework of an in-game helm, obviously, but even with that as a base, my attempt at turning it into a proper winged zischagge went miserably.

Heh, it's still better than being on foot in the snow.
And hopefully I'll still remember that when we're bogged down in the mire

Pretty much what I did for Sal's helmet. Stole it off of some other sprite, added in a burlap outer layer that I say hides a chain layer underneath that. If you dig deep enough, you can probably see my horrific attempts at making a helmet from scratch in my first sprite. I'm rather happy with how it is now, although it's really more of a skullcap than a full fledged helmet. Fit perfectly though, so I'm not complaining too much.

"I suggest probably donning that helmet again if you plan on any sort of excursion of the physical nature, unless you fancy catching blades and arrows with your head. Or the chance of letting people use your hair as a hold on you for leverage in combat, that would be most terrible, but then again this is only a traveler's opinion."

: "But wearing a helmet helps make you anonymous, increasing your chance of horrible cutscene death. I've heard the stories!"

"Hm... Drat, you're right. Narrative understanding wasn't one of my strong points in my studies. What the masked man said could work though, making the helmet sufficiently unique might fix that bit of narrative weakness, or perhaps some compromise between protective and obscuring..."

"Y'all 're nuts.  Plumb crazy.  'Narrative causality.'  All I needs trust is my lance and my shield, and those fickle ivory weapons of the dread GM.  But believe you me, I'll be donning my helm the second we start this fine tale, anonymous or no."

Just wondering Culise, but is your character from Masalla? Because that's where Grifen is from, and she speaks in a vaguely "country" accent just like Tacey does.
