Grifen's family!
Class: Nomad RangerHer father, Herman. Head of the clan, youngest of three brothers. Originally slated to go on his traditional journey of adulthood, come back, and get hitched by the matchmaker, his life changed forever when he encountered...
Class: Valkyrie (horse-mounted)...this woman, Ada of Mieros. Ada was the only child of a caustic old apothecary, and came to Masalla chasing after a cartel of Kretosian slavers who had kidnapped her best friend. She and Herman joined forces in a brief skirmish with some of the cartel's lowest-ranked goons, a relatively minor scuffle that would soon escalate into what was, for the laid-back clans of the plains, a small war. Herman and Ada became the heart of a band of resistance fighters that, eventually, wiped out the cartel's operations in Masalla and freed every slave they could find. Shortly afterwards, Herman became clan leader due to overwhelming support from the other adults, and followed up this coup by breaking nearly 200 years of tradition: rather than allow a matchmaker to find him a wife, he proposed to and married Ada. Because Ada had no real home to return to, she stayed in Masalla. Ada dislikes a number of Masallan traditions, but unfortunately there's only so much she can do to enact change. Mostly due to one man in particular...
Class: Nomad RangerEdward, Herman's oldest brother. Originally slated to become leader of the clan, he fell out of favor following the events of the slaver war and his kid brother took the reins, a fact that he has never accepted with any sort of grace. Constantly seeks to undermine Herman's leadership, though he lacks the support necessary to oust his youngest brother. He tends to make appeals to tradition, which some of the older clan members approve of, or questions how Herman's decisions might negatively affect the clan as a whole. As a result, Herman must tread carefully. Masallan politics can be cutthroat, all too often literally so.
Class: Nomad/Supply LineLife at home isn't all family drama, however! This is Rufus, the middle brother. A staunch supporter of Herman's leadership and a doting uncle to Grifen. Though he isn't a powerful warrior like his brothers, he has a sharp mind for numbers and trade and thus spends the most time away from the homestead, driving the clan's wagons all around Masalla and coming home with goods that the clan itself cannot produce. He is the one who taught Grifen how to use crossbows after the young girl's injury made it clear that she would never be able to wield regular bows effectively.
Class: CivilianAnd finally, we have Grifen's grandmother, Herman's mother. An old woman of considerable age, she doesn't do much nowadays except for tell stories to whoever will listen. Grifen loves to hear her granny's stories. Full of strange and wonderful creatures, they are.
