...I can't believe I've gotten both STR and MAG twice despite MAG being 5 times more likely to improve.

Keeping Julius alive might actually be the simple part of this equation.

But... I am struggling to see how we can save Sara. We are certainly going to need a really good plan. Killing off Yonn early is an option of sorts but...

I suppose we can break down this into Micro issues.

We would first have to reach the enemy army. This will take us about 1 turn with music and dance, and then we are in fighting range and they will predictably charge.

We then have a second turn for punching a hole through their defenses and keeping our mates alive. They'll have the initative to attack, so we'll want units that are going to be able to react and take a few hits before going down.

There is then a third turn following that where we have to use what moves we have remaining to get up close and personal with Yonn with what remnants of our attack force remain. We have to kill him that turn, as I doubt any of our units that go behind enemy lines are going to last for long.

Here is My Big Plan, such as it is.

Step 1. We murder that second group of pegasi riders that just showed up. I mean wreck their shit as fast as possible. I'm thinking we should be able to get more than half this turn, if we're lucky/smart.

Step 2. Once the airborne troops are dead, threaten the shit out of Yonn. Really lay it on thick. I've already determined what Sheila is going to say, apart from precise wording, so leave that to me.

Step 3. Hope Yonn caves and joins up, ending the map and saving Sara.

Step 1a. Julius runs the hell away because if my plan goes belly up and he sticks around, he could be in a lot of trouble.

Birdy's plan is also viable. For a certain value of viable, that is. I don't know that I want to commit to us pressing an attack with no way out if things go pear shaped.

Oof. Both risky plans.

I mean, diplomacy did work once in FEF1 (for a certain definition of diplomacy...) when we managed to get Joz to parley. But in that case, we had Derick and Raquel as character witnesses.

I'm not sure I like Plan Jenkins any better though :<

In defense of plan Aggressive Diplomacy, Yonn is totally confirmed to be a potential NPC. So we know he can be reasoned with.

I'd rather go with Blade's plan. Knocking off the riders is important either way, but if we can surround Yonn before he thinks he's lost and retreats, we can convince him that opposition is futile and ours is a worthwhile quest.

Wait! I have an idea.

There is one thing you should never, ever do in a campaign. And that is surrender to the enemy. But we're not up against an enemy, are we? We're up against a potential ally that is fighting us under falsified pretenses. All we need to do is talk to him and sort this mess out. We don't have to kill him, or kill more of his men. We just have to convince him that we're willing drop our arms, because we are not his enemy.
