Crossbows are a mixed bag. They are neat for countering, and the flat damage can counter low strength, but most units will take low end damage from them on the whole, because their damage does not scale with level.

But yeah, a flier with a brain will piss itself in the face of crossbows.

Well, wyverns, sure, but pegasi can get away with it, since there's a fair deal fewer weapons that are effective against them.

I mean, it's not always going to work, but NPCs can't take Nullify, and it lets you put your growths into something else. Like Magic, if you're a Troubadour, or an Archer looking to go into Battle Mage. Especially since Base Damage PS still work.

It would probably be best with Spies or something though, to make use of their class-unique weapons/being an Assassin, to make use of getting to have a high Skill growth. Speed doesn't really matter, with how stupidly heavy crossbows are(seriously it's so dumb).

I do wish Mage Knights could add their Magic to attacks with them, though...
